those who made the life-changing and life-saving decision to say "I
OBJECT" --- even from the battlefield --- and we will learn the steps that
need to be taken to make conscientious objection the prevailing term used to

40] – The Committee for the Republic [events@committeefortherepublic.org] on Tues., April 21 at 7 PM ET is hosting Trevor Potter & Adav Noti of Campaign Legal Center to talk about the 2026 Mid-Term Elections. Attend online at https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/kEJmYGhDQ4WocWxMqF-5kA#/registration
Why is the Trump Administration attempting to set election rules when the Constitution clearly says the states and Congress have that power, not the president? What actions might the federal government attempt to influence the midterm elections? Could Trump use the Insurrection Act to prevent voting? President Trump's nightmare is a Democratic Party landslide setting the stage for a third impeachment in 2027. On Jan. 6, 2026, Trump warned Republican lawmakers: "You gotta win the midterms 'cause, if we don't win the midterms…I'll get impeached." On Jan. 16, he opined: “we shouldn't even have an election.” Whether or not any of this comes to pass, there is value in having this discussion now for its deterrent effect. Potter, a former FEC Chairman and now President and founder of Campaign Legal Center (CLC), and CLC Executive Director Adav Noti will answer these questions and more.
