44] – On Thursdays, March 6 and March 13 from 9 AM to 11:30 PM, Indivisible is urging you to write your members of Congress to stop  Musk’s Destruction of Democracy. RSVP at https://www.mobilize.us/mobilize/event/756594/?followup_modal_context=nonexclusive_newsletter_closest

Find your senators: https://www.senate.gov/senators/senators-contact.htm and find your Rep: https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative

Dear [Title Last Name], I am alarmed by the surge in dismissals within our government. According to Reuters, the campaign led by Unelected President Elon Musk has resulted in nearly 10,000 terminations, affecting areas like federal lands and veterans' care. This issue goes beyond the numbers. They fired-rehired the guys who watch our NUKES!  Thank you for your time. I look forward to hearing how you plan to address this matter.

45] – The Feinberg Series [feinberg@umass.edu] will host a panel conversation "The Rise and Fall of Student Debt" with Astra Taylor, Leigh-Ann Naidoo, and Kelly Gillespie on Thurs., March 6 at noon. RSVP at https://websites.umass.edu/feinberg/student-debt/

Rising tuition and skyrocketing student debt have fundamentally reshaped higher education in recent decades, with toxic effects on all of society, both in the U.S. and globally. Join filmmaker and Debt Collective co-founder Astra Taylor and South African academics and organizers Leigh-Ann Naidoo and Kelly Gillespie (moderator) for a conversation on student debt, the crisis of global capitalism, and global movements fighting to end debt and transform higher education.

46] – Jewish Voice for Peace is doing a Power Half-Hour for Gaza: Channel grief & outrage into action to stop a genocide.  A year into the genocide in Gaza, we are overwhelmed with sorrow and rage. There are no words to describe the devastating pain of the past year in which the Israeli military has killed over 44,000 Palestinians in Gaza, including more than 17,000 children. The International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court have both declared that Israel must stop the genocidal acts being committed on the Palestinian people. And the U.S. government is actively supporting the Israeli military as it wreaks devastation on the over 2 million Palestinians in Gaza. JVP continues to come together as a political community in its daily half-hour to take action, Monday through Friday, for the past year. Join in and take collective action to demand an arms embargo to Israel, immediate end to the genocide, a lasting ceasefire and an end to Israeli siege, apartheid, occupation, and oppression of Palestinians and Lebanon. All are welcome. All are needed. Get involved at 3 PM ET on Thurs., March 6, Mon., March 10, Tues., March 11 & Wed., March 12.  Visit https://jvp-org.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_Un0Lupy1SFObVVXJaZO5UQ?_x_zm_rtaid=8L0JUS3pQkenMGtx9ha3mQ.1732760660364.03949df73aedc7035fc618f76c52fc75&_x_zm_rhtaid=249#/registration

47] – Join the Social Housing Working Group for its biweekly organizing meeting on Thurs., March 6 at 6 PM ET. Learn about its latest activities, what they're planning for the future, and how to get involved. The Social Housing Working Group seeks to educate Metro DC DSA chapter members and the general public about social housing and to facilitate collective action in support of the passage and implementation of the Green New Deal for Housing Amendment Act. The legislation proposes to create mixed-income, district-owned housing with market rate units that subsidize a larger number of affordable units. It's a pioneering approach that deepens affordability, invests surplus funds into the creation of more social housing, and locks-in financial sustainability. The bill also includes climate and labor standards and elected tenant boards with oversight over building management. This event is open to both DSA Members and supporters. On March 6 at 6 PM, there is a Social Housing Organizing Meeting. Email Info:social.housing.wg@gmail.com A link to attend this virtual event will be emailed upon RSVP: https://actionnetwork.org/events/march-06-2025-social-housing-organizing-meeting?clear_id=true&link_id=28&can_id=4b9d4061aec5469758759317ac0f5285&source=email-nova-branch-dsa-upcoming-actions-and-events-200&email_referrer=email_2633550&email_subject=02272025-nova-branch-dsa-upcoming-actions-and-events

51] – Join Stop the Money Pipeline team on Thurs., March 6th at 8 PM ET on Zoom to learn the risks from frontline leaders in the Liquid Natural Gas fight.  LNG demand in Japan's power sector is expected to rise by more than 10% to about 74 million tons by 2040. Japan is also the largest public and private financier of gas and LNG projects around the world, despite a G7 commitment to phase out financial support for overseas fossil fuel projects.  Methane is highly volatile, and this U.S. build-out poses especially dangerous explosion risks and health risks due to the greenhouse gas emissions created by the extraction, transmission, and transportation of LNG. On top of that, we know that LNG is an environmental justice issue, with harms disproportionately placed on Black, Brown, Indigenous, and low-income residents living in impacted communities. For example, in Freeport, Texas air pollution adjacent to the Freeport LNG facility posed some of the highest lifetime air toxics cancer risk and respiratory hazards of any community in the country, according to a report published this May. Learn how the government of Japan along with its main banks and insurance companies are the biggest players in the U.S. Gulf methane expansion projects. Hear directly from NGO & Gulf leaders working to stop this expansion. 52] – The Green New Deal Network [info@e.greennewdealnetwork.org] on Thursdays, March 6, 13, 20 & 27 at 8 PM ET is doing an Advocacy Training. The fight for climate starts in your community.  GNDN and 20+ allies are coming together to train passionate people (like you!) to effectively call members of Congress, organize in person meetings, create compelling social media content, and more. Build tools and share strategies to meet the moment. RSVP at https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/1417401570282/WN_3jpaq3mMR32N48Nd3uE_9w#/registration

53] – The IfNotNow team [info@ifnotnowmovement.org] is holding a national call on Thurs., March 6 at 8 PM ET about Project Esther, the right’s plan to dismantle civil society, starting with the movement for Palestinian rights. It’s a repressive, authoritarian agenda — and it’s exactly what the ADL is supporting. Over the past few weeks, the ADL has defended Musk's Nazi salute and refused to join thousands of Jews who denounced Trump's plan to ethnically cleanse Palestinians from Gaza. It also embraced Trump's executive order to deport students & immigrants who protest the Israeli military's assault on Gaza — right out of the Project Esther playbook. RSVP at Join our virtual call this Thursday, March 6 at 8PM ET / 5PM PT. https://secure.everyaction.com/TL9zZeLyJEOPXwSbRCoP2Q2?ms=3425Email&sourceid=1053824&emci=f2a59e02-3bf9-ef11-90cd-0022482a9fb7&emdi=c83a801a-4af9-ef11-90cd-0022482a9fb7&ceid=30868439

54] – Greenpeace USA [info@greenpeaceusa.org] is on trial. Get an update on Thursdays, March 6, 13, 20 & 27 from 8:30 to 9:30 PM. ‌ ‌Week two of the trial for Big Oil company Energy Transfer’s $300 million lawsuit against Greenpeace USA, Greenpeace International, and Greenpeace Fund is underway, and the world is officially watching. Beyond its potential impacts on Greenpeace entities, this case could establish dangerous new legal precedents that could hold any participant at protests responsible for the actions of others at those protests, chilling free speech in the U.S. and beyond.

Energy Transfer’s $300 million lawsuit attempts to rewrite the history of the Indigenous-led protests at Standing Rock — but we’re never going to let that happen. In direct defiance of Energy Transfer’s attempted racist rewrite, last week’s call focused on the actual powerful history of the Dakota Access Pipeline protest movement and discussed how to continue supporting Indigenous-led struggles to protect land, water, and sovereignty. Hear how billionaires and big polluters profit while our communities pay the price. From poisoned air and water to climate disasters, hear from frontline activists about the real cost of corporate power — and how we can hold them accountable.  RSVP at https://www.mobilize.us/greenpeace/event/751852/?utm_source=inc__250304_webinar_invite_37zzzzzzzzzcz&utm_medium=inc__250304_webinar_invite_37zzzzzzzzzcz&sourceid=1021237&emci=38dc92ef-52f9-ef11-90cd-0022482a9fb7&emdi=3adc92ef-52f9-ef11-90cd-0022482a9fb7&ceid=1705696

55] – The Progressive Democrats of America [info@pdamerica.org] on Thurs., March 6 at 9 PM ET will hold a Campaign to Victory Call -- Defeating Wannabe Kings, Working for Justice, Defending Democracy, and Bringing Home Important Wins.
