39] – The Progressive Maryland Healthcare Task Force is concerned
about the dangerous Trump Musk plan to slash Medicaid, Medicare, the ACA
and other health programs. Join People’s Action and other allies on Wed., Feb.
26 from 9 AM to 12:30 PM at the
Metro Center - station entrance, 1078 G St. NW, WDC 20001. For questions and requests, contact Patty at patty@progressivemayland.org. This is a day of demonstrations
against the corporations and MAGA Musk forces that want to raid Medicaid,
Medicare, the ACA and vital public health programs. Don't let Trump and Musk
rip off billions of our tax dollars and leave millions of people without
healthcare. RSVP at https://www.mobilize.us/progressivemaryland/event/756368/?emci=403964b2-3cee-ef11-90cb-0022482a94f4&emdi=f3a2c04e-4cee-ef11-90cb-0022482a94f4&ceid=136680
40] – On Wed., Feb. 26 at 10 AM, Ellen Grady will go on trial in Federal Court at 100 South Clinton St., Syracuse, NY 13261 facing a charge "unreasonable obstruction of an entrance." She was arrested on Nov. 15 while demanding an end to illegal US arms sales to Israel for a year-long genocide in Gaza. Ellen and nine others of the Berrigan Collective sat in the lobby of the Syracuse Federal Building housing Senators Schumer and Gillibrand’s offices calling on the senators to stop funding Israel’s year of genocide. Ellen was the only one arrested. Among possible witnesses are people who resigned from the State Department and the Department of the Interior because of the Biden administration’s violation of six laws prohibiting the US from sending weapons to a country committing war crimes and genocide.

44] –Marie with Local Peace Economy [peaceeconomy@codepink.org] on Wed., Feb. 26 at 8 PM ET wants you know there is a gathering. You might have heard humanity is governed by the survival of the fittest? But many sociologists now believe in cooperation rather than competition. But when did the concept of the "other" begin to be considered, "less-than" or "unworthy," or "enemy?" When did we begin to dehumanize each other? Discuss issues, legislation, and actions we can all participate in to help make life better for all with disabilities. The featured speaker is Andrew Pulrang, (He/Him), a disabled, disability-focused freelance writer, online activist, and former Center for Independent Living Director living in Northeastern New York. He has been a contributing writer on disability topics for Forbes.com, and was a co-partner, with Gregg Beratan and Alice Wong, of #CripTheVote, a nonpartisan online movement encouraging the political participation of people with disabilities. He'll be discussing how social media can be used by the disabled and others to build the movement.
"The master class has always declared the wars; the subject class has always fought the battles. The master class has had all to gain and nothing to lose, while the subject class has had nothing to gain and everything to lose--especially their lives." Eugene Victor Debs
