Jewish Voice for Peace is doing a Power
Half-Hour for Gaza: Channel grief & outrage into action to stop a
genocide. A year into the genocide in
Gaza, we are overwhelmed with sorrow and rage. There are no words to describe
the devastating pain of the past year in which the Israeli military has killed
over 44,000 Palestinians in Gaza, including more than 17,000 children. The
International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court have both
declared that Israel must stop the genocidal acts being committed on the
Palestinian people. And the U.S. government is actively supporting the Israeli
military as it wreaks devastation on the over 2 million Palestinians in Gaza.
JVP continues to come together as a political community in its daily half-hour
to take action, Monday through Friday, for the past year. Join in and take
collective action to demand an arms embargo to Israel, immediate end to the
genocide, a lasting ceasefire and an end to Israeli siege, apartheid,
occupation, and oppression of Palestinians and Lebanon. All are welcome. All
are needed. Get involved at 3 PM ET on Mon., March 10, Tues., March 11, Wed.,
March 12 & Thurs., March 13. Visit https://jvp-org.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_Un0Lupy1SFObVVXJaZO5UQ?_x_zm_rtaid=8L0JUS3pQkenMGtx9ha3mQ.1732760660364.03949df73aedc7035fc618f76c52fc75&_x_zm_rhtaid=249#/registration

Help elect Judge Susan Crawford, the liberal candidate! Join these phone banks to activate Wisconsin Dems. Call people who have volunteered in the past and invite them to help out again – to canvass, phone bank, and spread the word to their neighbors as well as WI voters. Absolutely no experience required – these are very low-tech phone banks!
21] –On Mon., March 10 at 8 PM ET, check out CODEPINK’s Missing Peace Monday with Dr. Rupa Marya, a renowned physician and professor of medicine at UCSF, who is on administrative leave for simply asking that the university examine the implications of inviting students with military backgrounds to join academic and health care institutions without accountability or screening. Join Meredith from CCAN to walk around the neighborhood and collect data about invasive vines around East Riverdale Park. When you arrive for your shift, you will receive a list of streets to walk and note survey data where you see invasive vines threatening trees using a simple electronic form. Each list should take about an hour to complete. This activity is physically suitable for anyone who is able to stand and walk for 1 hour. This event is for volunteers who attended the Community Tree Survey Virtual Training on February 24th or March 5th. However, if you did not attend the training and still want to join, you must watch the recording ahead of time. Please email meredith@chesapeakeclimate.org to receive the recording.
25] – Join the hybrid National Interfaith Vigil and Day of Action on Capitol Hill on Tues., March 11 starting at 1 PM, organized by the Interfaith Immigration Coalition, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 301 A St., S.E. on Capitol Hill in D.C., either in-person or with an online option, featuring local and national Jewish, Christian, and Muslim faith leaders. As Congress works to appropriate funding in the next few weeks for mass deportations, mass detention, border militarization, aid rollback, while contemplating the refugee resettlement halt and the expansion of cruel policies against people on the move, the time cannot be more critical to stand up for the right values. Call on members of Congress to protect immigrant rights with humane policies and adequate funding. After the vigil, many will participate in meetings with several members of Congress. 26] – Join the Baltimore Nonviolence Center on Tues., March 10 from 4:30 to 5 PM ET at 33rd and N. Charles Sts. to condemn the invasion of Ukraine and the Trump/Vance team which supports Putin’s war crimes. Putin has destroyed Aleppo and Grozny and has threatened the use of nuclear weapons. And he knows that Trump appreciates how he got Trump elected in 2016. Rather than support Ukraine, Trump hoped to steal Ukraine’s rare earth minerals. Let us hope that the European Union will provide further support for the Ukrainian people. Contact Max at mobuszewski2001 at Comcast dot net or 410-323-1607.
