] On Thurs., Feb. 15 at 2 PM ET, tell the White House to stop the bombing of Rojava and support the release of Abdullah Öcalan. Join the Emergency Committee for Rojava to protest Turkey’s escalating war (conducted with US F-16 fighter jets and complicity) against the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, commonly known as Rojava, and to call for the release of Abdullah Öcalan who is beginning his 25th year of political imprisonment in Turkey. Rojava is one of the most striking socialist projects in the world, aiming to create a horizontalist, feminist and ecological democracy in the ashes of the Syrian Civil War, and exists as part of the interrelated struggle for a Kurdish homeland free of Turkish, Iraqi and Syrian oppression. RSVP

] – Public Citizen [] on Thurs., Feb. 15 from 7 to 8 PM ET is inviting you to join Attorney General Eric Holder in the fight for fair maps. Many politicians are more concerned with getting re-elected than with making sure everyone is represented. Every ten years, politicians across the country sit down and figure out how to use census data to design Congressional districts for themselves where they’re very likely to be re-elected.  Some states are fighting back by removing politicians from the redistricting process. But in others, unfair districts are being decided through the courts. Holder will provide the latest update on redistricting cases around the country and how you can take action to create a democracy where we all truly have a voice.  RSVP at

] – MAPA [] is inviting on Thurs., Feb. 15 at 7 PM ET to Two Ceasefires: a Call for a Ceasefire and Negotiations 0m Gaza and Ukraine.  Register at

As the second anniversary of the war in Ukraine and the beginning of the 5th month of the attack on Gaza approaches, the peace movement's call for a ceasefire in Gaza continues to grow. Perhaps this growing public support for a ceasefire in Gaza can be built on and extended to the deadly war in Ukraine where casualties are soaring and nuclear confrontation threatens. The speakers are Medea Benjamin, Stephen Kinzer, Dennis Kucinich and Phyllis Bennis.

] – Alison Rodner [] needs you on Thurs., Feb. 15 at 7 PM for the MD Moms Demand Action virtual chapter meeting.  Get updates on the work from all over the state and talk about upcoming events and actions. RSVP at

] – Climate Hawks Vote [] needs you to participate in a phone bank on Thursdays, Feb. 15 & Feb. 29 from 7 to 9 PM ET.  For Climate hawk candidates in deep blue districts the election that matters is in just a few weeks. Laura Friedman is one such climate hawk, and you can join a phone bank to help her.  Friedman is a state legislator, where she’s led on climate bills: phasing out single use plastics, transportation, parking, building decarbonization and more. But don’t just listen to us; listen to the Los Angeles Times, which has provided an early endorsement of Laura: she “has built a reputation as a smart, thoughtful, and principled policymaker who takes on difficult issues–such as…climate change–to solve problems, not to score political points.”  California’s 30th Congressional District, covering Burbank and Hollywood, is a deep blue open seat (its current representative, Adam Schiff, is running for Senate). A dozen or so candidates have shown interest in running, but only a few of them are top-tier – and only one, Laura Friedman, is the stand-out climate hawk.  Ballots go out February 5 and the last day to vote in the primary is March 5. Sign up at

] – Indivisible is hosting its first National Campaigns Call of the year on Thurs., Feb. 15 at 8 PM ET.
