63] – On Thurs., July 9 from 7 to 8:30 PM, get with Profs & Pints Online: The Fight to Save Sharks.  Visit https://www.crowdcast.io/e/sharks. Here from David Shiffman, marine conservation biologist, environmental policy consultant, and adjunct instructor at Arizona State University’s New College. Dive deep into the murky waters of marine conservation—and, specifically, the effort to protect shark species.

Sharks and their relatives are in more trouble than most other vertebrate animals on Earth, with nearly one out of species assessed as threatened with extinction on the “Red List” maintained by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. Although they were swimming in the oceans before the existence of dinosaurs or trees, and have survived many global mass extinction events, our current day’s unsustainable fishing practices threaten them like never before. A recorded version of this talk will remain available online. A ticket is $12. Go to https://www.facebook.com/events/1987075298090677/.

64] – Baltimore Peace Action meets every second Thursday of the month, and you can connect by Zoom and or by phone for the next meeting on June 10 at 7 PM. Register at Bmore4peace@gmail.com. March & caravan starting 2 PM at 20th & Charles on Saturday, June 13 for racial justice (nationwide). Embargoes during pandemic are illegal biological warfare. Hear updates on Venezuela, Iran, Gaza, Yemen, Syria, and Iraq. Get ready to block evictions with our bodies!

65] – Workers World Party invites you to a webinar on Thurs., July 9 at 8 PM ET.  Register at https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_7IjR5nFEQh-vwPqsOBNMNw. In order for a revolution to succeed, the working class must be organized. Whether it is community organization, or workplace struggle, uniting the working class is essential. And this requires ‘deep organizing’, creating connections with a majority of workers and community members and building power from the bottom up.

To be continued.
