Church Terrell (1863–1954) to life. Born in Tennessee to two formerly enslaved

Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and the National Association for Colored

– March Against Trump's
Police State and Defend the Right to Protest on Wed., June 22 at 5:30 PM at the
U.S. Customs & Border Protection HQ (Reagan building). Meet on 14th St. NW side, between Constitution
Ave. and D St. NW. Then march to the
White House. RSVP on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/events/s/march-against-trumps-police-st/286458016131237.
The Trump administration is declaring
war on the largest social justice movement of our lifetimes. In Portland over
the past few days, unmarked vans with unidentified federal agents have
kidnapped protesters for interrogation. These are outrageous, illegal and unconstitutional
assaults on protesters and the protest movement--and these are the same tactics
that ICE uses on immigrants day in and day out and that the U.S. military uses
regularly against civilians in other countries. The lead organization is ANSWER
Coalition D.C.

– Participate in a WEBINAR
The Fight to Save Unemployment Insurance on Wed., July 22 at 7 PM ET with special
guest Rep. Dan Kildee (MI-05)! The
COVID-19 pandemic is getting worse, and millions of families are weathering a
disastrous economic crisis. Workers out of jobs are relying on the $600 boost
to unemployment insurance passed in the CARES Act to make ends meet. But the
$600 boost to unemployment insurance expires at the end of the month. If
Congress doesn’t save the $600, millions of people across the country will have
no way to pay for rent, food, utilities, or healthcare.
