62] – Cat Knarr, USCPR [contact@uscpr.org] wants you to register for the “Our Struggle Is One: Resisting Settler Colonialism” Land Day webinar on Fri., April 1 at noon ET. Defend native land from Palestine to Turtle Island. March 30 is Land Day: a day that commemorates the Palestinian people’s relentless resistance to Israeli settler colonialism, military occupation, and apartheid. This day reminds us of the importance of defending and protecting native land around the world, from Palestine to Turtle Island, as Palestinian people all across Palestine protest settler colonialism. Native peoples have the right to exist and thrive on the lands where they live.

The NDN Collective lives on Turtle Island,—an Indigenous-led organization dedicated to building Indigenous power just released a position paper for Land Day to uplift the struggle and demands of the Palestinian people. This powerful paper demonstrates that “Under settler colonialism, settlers do not care about the People or the land,” The paper also reads: “Their relationships are based on extraction and exploitation. Indigenous Peoples protect and defend our land and our communities. The land convenes us and helps to define who we are and what our purpose is.”  Register at https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_2SRnHEm6RQeEEpnoROajwA?emci=5dffdf1b-58b0-ec11-997e-281878b83d8a&emdi=a445f4a7-63b0-ec11-997e-281878b83d8a&ceid=5467956.

68] – Attend a conference entitled Catastrophe, Militarism and the Violence of Climate on Sat., April 2 starting at 10 AM and Sun., April 3 starting at 11 AM EDT. Join Chicago Area Peace Action for the Third Annual Peace Summit. Take a deeper dive into the environmental degradation/military complex, but what we as a global community can do about it. Importantly, our shared predicament offers us the opportunity to unite across our cultural, ideological, and national differences to address the climate crisis as one, de-escalating militarism and dismantling global norms of violent communication, corporate greed, and imperialism.

It’s no secret that our world is on a fast-moving, downwards slope towards climate catastrophe. But hidden from this discussion is one of the largest contributors to today’s crisis: a global order based on militarization, especially one coming directly from the U.S. military. If the U.S. military were a nation-state, it would be Earth’s 47th largest carbon emitter. But the intersection goes beyond that. There are military and police forces across the globe shutting down climate protests. States stealing natural resources is becoming a more normal form of state violence as climate change dramatically reduces global resources. Register at for the 2022 Peace Summit! https://secure.everyaction.com/oepvU-t6i0KxGi2yBGZs8Q2.

69] – Knock on doors for Brooke in Prince Georges County on Sat., April 2 from 10 AM to 1 PM ET. Talk with your neighbors about electing Democrats up and down the ballot in 2022. 77] -- This is A PLEA TO CONVINCE JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY TO OBEY INTERNATIONAL LAW. The world reached a historic milestone on January 22, 2021: The Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons [TPNW] entered into force and become binding international law -- https://www.icanw.org/the_treaty.

Prevent Nuclear War/Maryland has called attention to the growing danger of nuclear war and the outrageous $1.7 trillion dollars we are spending to upgrade the nuclear arsenal. On July 18, 2017, Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, a U.S. Navy - affiliated research center received a seven-year, $92 million contract to continue its systems engineering and research-and-development services for the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center. Help convince JHU to renounce nuclear weapons contracts. Contact the president, Ron Daniels, to urge him to reject all nuclear weapons contracts: Office of the President, 242 Garland Hall, The Johns Hopkins University, 3400 N. Charles St., Baltimore, Maryland 21218.  Call his office at (410) 516-8068 or email president@jhu.edu.

Dave just printed the 5th edition of the book which is available for $25 by sending him a check: Dave Eberhardt, 4 Hadley Square North, Baltimore, MD 21218. You can contact him at mozela9@comcast.net. He prefers that you DO NOT order the book from Amazon. Image 1 of 2 for FOR ALL THE SAINTS: A PROTEST PRIMER. David Eberhardt; Image 2 of 2 for FOR ALL THE SAINTS: A PROTEST PRIMER; and FOR ALL THE SAINTS: A PROTEST PRIMER.  This is a self-published book printed in 2017 with updates.

The price is $25 for a Spiral Bound, and Signed. This edition being what the publisher calls “The 4th edition (or first edition 4th state?)  of this book (with “final” additions) has been printed by the firm of FEDEX numbered 150-200, signed by the author, February 2017.”This is copy 187 and is numbered and signed by David Eberhardt on the title page.~~While the bibliographical information is a bit head-spinning, this is an engaging memoir by David Eberhardt recounting his involvement with the Brothers Berrigan in the protests against the Viet Nam war, and his subsequent time as an inmate at the Lewisburg Federal Prison. There is Near Fine binding: Item #291479.

Vladimir Putin is waging a brutal war on a sovereign nation, has put his nuclear forces on high alert for the first time since the end of the Cold War, and is threatening unimaginable consequences if NATO gets militarily involved. The future of the world - humanity’s very existence -- is at the mercy of this one man. Nuclear weapons did not prevent Russia’s invasion nor can the United States’ large nuclear arsenal play a role in stopping it. This is a terrifying moment - particularly for the Ukrainian people. No one knows how this will end or be resolved.

Right now the priority is to end this war, support the Ukrainian people and be a voice for peace and non-violence. Begin to shape a new way forward and a new commitment and momentum for nuclear abolition. Register at https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZUucuGgqzgvHdDO_VaFG1pQC-AAanIELEVw. This one hour Zoom discussion will provide an opportunity for supporters, BftB activists and the general public to get the latest on the Ukraine war and how it’s impacting our work. Hear from a nuclear weapons expert and disarmament advocate, Zia Mian, Co-Director of Princeton University’s Program on Science and Global Security.

To be continued.
