Jim Zogby will discuss this further during his regular Coffee and a Column meeting on Wed., July 15 from 2 to 2:30 PM ET.  Register at https://zoom.us/meeting/register/tJwlfuyvrTguH9D6PJjVtKGxXkBU4fAR8czy?emci=be65912a-22c5-ea11-9b05-00155d03bda0&emdi=fffe0ebe-e2c5-ea11-9b05-00155d03bda0&ceid=389907 to receive the dial-in information for the Zoom call.

Ave. NW, WDC.  Protest the Bank of England's looting of Venezuela's gold, valued at over $1.2 billion!  A British court recently upheld the Bank's decision to refuse to give Venezuela back its gold, despite the fact that it was going to go directly to the United Nations Development Program so this UN agency could buy food, medicine and other supplies to help Venezuela in its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Please wear a mask and try to maintain physical distancing! See https://www.facebook.com/events/225483541826860/.

51] - On Wed., July 15 from 6 to 9 PM, the Baltimore City Chapter of Progressive Maryland will do a Textbank and Training Session. Spend the first hour training volunteers on the texting platform, with the rest of the time used to send texts for the BTEC petition drive. RSVP here https://secure.everyaction.com/iXRQxX-sq0iT9-Sa5GqiZg2.

52] – Progressive Maryland is gearing up for a summer of healthcare action starting with a phone bank on Wed., July 15 from 6 to 8 PM.  RSVP here: https://secure.everyaction.com/BPzljP6fUkm19GqhB3dDcA2.  It’s time for Maryland’s Congressional delegation to sponsor, lead and push their colleagues to sign on two important measures: The Medicare Crisis Program Act (H.R. 6674) and the Healthcare Emergency Guarantee Act (H.R. 6906 and S. 3790).  These bills would empower Medicare to pay all of the costs of Covid-related treatment for the uninsured and cover all out-of-pocket costs for those with public or private insurance, for as long as this pandemic continues. We need these kinds of remedies to help all the individuals and families who are struggling to get the care they need. Unfortunately, too many Senators and House Members are looking to the Worker Health Coverage Protection Act (H.R. 6514) as the best solution. The bill doesn’t do the job as it simply expands COBRA subsidies and would expose already-suffering workers to huge premiums and out-of-pocket costs.

53] – Consider joining a free webinar about community solar. Learn how community solar enables you to support renewable energy even if you can't put panels on your home. By subscribing to a community solar project, you receive a credit on your electric bill each month for the solar energy produced by your share. The webinar on Community Solar Basics is on Wed., July 15 from 7 to 8 PM, and join via computer or phone. Bring your questions. This is a live, interactive webinar. See https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_g2TLQkH4QWOwProqHFS9lQ.

54] – On Wed., July 15 from 7 to 8 PM, join a Community Solar White Marsh Solar Farm Tour, hosted by CostSeg Energy Solutions and Neighborhood Sun. Check out https://www.facebook.com/events/331505041201552/.

55] – The Chesapeake Climate Action Network uses multiple routes of written advocacy to motivate change. Blog posts, public comments, and letters to the editor (LTEs) are all powerful ways to draw attention to an issue and engage grass root voices. Join Communications Director, Denise Robbins, to sharpen your writing skills and learn how to be a confident creator of written advocacy content on Wed., July 15 from 7 to 8 PM.  A Zoom link will be emailed to you after you RSVP at https://act.chesapeakeclimate.org/page/20374/data/1?utm_medium=email&utm_source=engagingnetworks&utm_campaign=newsletter&utm_content=CCAN+summer+newsletter+-+final&ea.url.id=519261.

56] –You’re invited to join Our Revolution on Wed., July 15 at 7:30 PM ET for a special Medicare for All call with U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal and Our Revolution National Board Chair Larry Cohen. RSVP now for this important conversation about Medicare for All and what is next for the movement: https://www.mobilize.us/ourrevolution/event/288263/?akid=71.8252965.JWms_X&rd=1&t=8.
