] – On Thurs., July 2 from 11 to 11:45 AM, catch Global 360- Pakistan: Regional Peace, Kashmir and Coronavirus, hosted by The Washington Diplomat. To get on this online event, visit https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_Tyc3a5gQSguPtRoMg5viVw. The disputed territory of Kashmir has seen a recent uptick in violence between India and Pakistan all the while the threat of coronavirus has put Pakistan — and all South Asia — on edge. In the latest Global 360 webcast, Pakistani Ambassador Asad Majeed Khan — a veteran diplomat with a long history of working in the U.S. — gives an update on the situation in Kashmir and talks about Pakistani efforts to curb the spread of coronavirus and his country's role in fostering peace in the region. Register to join the Webcast: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_Tyc3a5gQSguPtRoMg5viVw.  Look at https://www.facebook.com/events/932433140554759/.

] – On Thurs., July 2 from 11 AM to noon, check out Human Rights at Home, hosted by the U.S. Helsinki Commission.  See www.csce.gov. By signing the Helsinki Final Act, the United States committed to respecting human rights and the rule of law, even under the most challenging circumstances. Recent developments in the United States—including George Floyd’s tragic death at the hands of police and subsequent protests—have put U.S. human rights commitments to the test in the eyes of the world. During this online hearing, witnesses will discuss these events, the U.S. response, and the resulting implications for U.S. leadership in foreign policy. Visit https://www.facebook.com/events/1187951978214365/.

] – Check out The Day After July 1: Where Does the Anti-Annexation Movement Go from Here?  While July 1 is the day when Israeli annexation of parts of the West Bank could begin to move forward, it remains difficult to forecast whether and how the Netanyahu-Gantz unity government will act on that date. Whether Israel annexes nearly 30% of the West Bank or a smaller swath of settlements, takes an unexpected turn or simply delays any decision to a later date, J Street's Jeremy Ben-Ami and the US/Middle East Project's Daniel Levy will join J Stream to provide timely analysis. They'll discuss how the US international lawmakers and the American Jewish community should respond if annexation does move forward, and the role that the anti-annexation movement has played in impacting Trump and Netanyahu’s decision-making so far. This live briefing will include the opportunity for audience Q&A. To join the July 2 at noon ET, go to https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_GUTcNuhfRZCWmqRDETJCGA.
] – On Thurs., July 2 at noon EDT, Freedom United is organizing a webinar in partnership with the United Nations Association of New York. Welcome the new UN Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of slavery, Tomoya Obokata, who will discuss the gap between international anti-slavery standards and survivors’ real-life experience of modern slavery protection.  Survivor and advocate Nancy Esiovwa will also be joining to share her lived experience perspective, alongside Executive Director Joanna Ewart-James.  The webinar will be followed by a Q&A session where you will have the opportunity to ask the panelists questions.  You're welcome to send your questions in advance to info@freedomunited.org. 59] – On Thurs., July 2 from 3 to 4 PM, get with Baltimore's Truth Commission: Putting Our Housing System on Trial, hosted by Housing Our Neighbors on an Online Event. There are over 150 individuals still residing in Baltimore city run shelters in congregate and inhumane settings. In addition, there have been 398 coronavirus cases and seven deaths among inmates at Maryland state and county corrections facilities, according to a state coronavirus dashboard. These numbers disproportionately affect black and brown people. Appropriate measures to ensure the health and safety of people experiencing homelessness and incarceration are continually being ignored by the city and Mayor Jack Young. The lasting impact of putting these people at such high risk of contracting this disease is incalculable, and it is imperative that we continue to push Mayor Young to do the right thing.

Baltimore City’s first Truth Commission will put our housing system on trial. The Truth Commission will be at the War Memorial Plaza, but you can also join in at https://www.facebook.com/events/818641855329486/.

] – On Thurs., July 2 from 5 to 6 PM, get with Bearing Witness Against Racism, hosted by the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 11900 Darnestown Road, Gaithersburg 20878. You do not need to be a member of the church to participate in the nonviolent vigil. Please wear a mask, stand 6 feet apart from others, and bring a sign. The goal is to cover as much of Darnestown Road as possible. Contact Pastor Christine (pastorchristine@poplutheran.org).

] – Join a Black Lives Matter Protest, hosted by Coalition Against Prejudice - CAP each day in July, except Sundays, from 6 to 8 PM.  On Saturdays, though, it will take place from 3 to 8 PM. Meet at the Westminster Branch Library, 50 E. Main St., Westminster 21157. Be the voice for those who can't breathe. Wear a mask, and practice social distancing.  This protest is child friendly. Look at https://www.facebook.com/events/922780318190574/?event_time_id=922780401523899.

] – Get over to a Digital Open House: Connect with the Maryland Poor People’s Campaign on Thurs., July 2 from 7 to 8:30 PM.  Connect with the Maryland PPC State Coordinating Committee and other Maryland (DMV) activists; and become a part of this new unsettling force sweeping the nation! We invite you to learn about how you can be part of moving forward with us in the fight for economic justice with a goal of building permanent educated, organized communities. 63] – On Thurs., July 2, 16 and 30 from 7 to 8:15 PM, join with Troublemakers Cafe Redux (Online), hosted by Lancaster Stands Up.  Sometimes a little trouble is what's called for. Join this bi-weekly online forum to get connected with each other and to keep informed on what is happening in our community. Troublemaker's Cafe is a place to discuss what's happening in the news, what have our elected officials have been up to during this crisis, and what we can do right now to make a difference.  Register for this event to receive a ZOOM link to join the meeting.  Register in advance for this meeting: https://pastandsup.zoom.us/meeting/register/vpErdO2qqj0iPYJx-Gb5u2wGgjbPTdZCYQ.  See https://www.facebook.com/events/1737864216355491/?event_time_id=1773487842793128.

] – Join the Sunrise Movement and others in deepening the understanding of abolition and learn how to turn the mandate to “Defund the Police” into tangible action in our communities. As such, from July 6 to 9, there will be a 4-day crash course to Defund the Police.
