coalitions) that wishes to actively work to carry out the NCNR campaign of
facilitating and organizing nonviolent resistance to U.S. wars.
To join the ORGANIZING List, please send

4] – Courtesy of the National Park Service and Google Arts

Hidden Worlds of the National Parks” is a satisfying escape. Whether you spend
five minutes on the site or an hour, it’s an important reminder that the world
is still beautiful and wonderful and weird, even in uncertain times. Learn more about how you can take a digital
adventure into your national parks: https://www.sierraclub.org/sierra/stuck-home-visit-these-5-national-parks-online?utm_source=insider&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=newsletter.
5] – The
Baltimore Museum of Art is proud to announce the launch of a new digital
talk series, Behind the Screens, an exclusive benefit for BMA
supporters. The series begins
with African Art and the Slave Trade, with Kevin Tervala, Associate
Curator of African Art and Department Head of Arts of Africa, the Americas,
Asia, and the Pacific Islands. Kevin discusses the ways in which the
transatlantic slave trade affected the arts of Africa. The key questions being
asked include: How did artists respond to the slave trade itself? And, more
broadly, how have artists responded to long-term effects of the slave trade
(e.g., sudden and intense depopulation, the collapse of pre-existing political
structures, and the rapid proliferation of firearms)? Watch at your leisure
at artbma.org/behindscreens using the password weloveart.

to the DC Council Chair on Sat., July 5 at 3 PM, and on Mon., July 6 from 9 AM
to 5 PM ET. On Tues., July 7, the DC
Council will vote on the FY21 budget. It is essential that Council Chair Phil
Mendelson hear from you about making sure that DC's budget is focused on racial
justice and equity. That means cutting the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD)
budget to make investments in true community safety in line with the demands on
Defundmpd.org. It also means raising taxes on wealthy residents so that funding
will be available for essential public services. Call Chairperson Mendelson's
office at (202) 724-8032 and tell him to support #JustRecoveryDC! Visit

– Join the Emergency Healthcare
Online Town Hall with US Senate Candidate Larry Hamm and Ralph Nader on Sun.,
July 5 at 4 PM ET. Contact Mike Fox at mikefox@pdamerica.org. On this Independence Day,
Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) calls for another Declaration of
Independence, a truly inclusive and long-overdue update to that venerable
document. The USA must issue a reimagined declaration to make real the promise
that all people are created equal. This, because our nation and society
continues to fall woefully short of our stated ideals.
