] – Virginia Interfaith Power & Light <contactus@vaipl.org> wants you to stay active throughout Virginia’s General Assembly session.  Meet with Policy Director, Benjamin Hoyne for a weekly legislative briefing call.  The last call is on Mon., March 4 at 6 PM, and it will be quick and informative. This is a way to stay informed and engaged with your legislator. Register at https://vaipl.ourpowerbase.net/civicrm/event/info?id=217&reset=1

] – CODEPINK [info@codepink.org] is hosting MISSING PEACE MONDAY on March 4 at PM ET -- How to Stay Visible for Palestine during Ramadan. RSVP at https://www.codepink.org/missingp34?e=bd65d633cc8ce57352e78dd768fcdbd5&utm_source=codepink&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=mpm_3_4_invite&n=4

In times like these, staying connected and sharing strategy is crucial in uniting to demand a ceasefire in Gaza and an end to the Israeli occupation in Palestine.  Discuss how to be visible for Palestine during the Holy Month of Ramadan, a time when the Israeli military typically intensifies violence against Palestinians. Also hear updates as cities across the country call for a ceasefire in Gaza, as well as other actions happening in the halls of Congress, locally and online.

] – Join the Baltimore Nonviolence Center on Tues., March 5 from 4:30 to 5 PM ET at 33rd and N. Charles Sts. The invasion of Ukraine has the potential to become a war extending throughout Europe.  Putin has destroyed Aleppo and Grozny and has threatened the use of nuclear weapons.  Russian soldiers were sent into the area around the contaminated and still radioactive Chernobyl nuclear plant. Now they are stationed in the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, the largest in Europe.   Contact Max at mobuszewski2001 at Comcast dot net or 410-323-1607.

] – The Northern Virginia Democratic Socialists of America [novabranch@mdcdsa.org] on Tues., March 5 at 6 PM ET is holding a virtual NOVA Migrant Justice working group meeting: "Migrant Justice Starts at Home: How Local Action Can Help Thwart ICE's Deportation Machine." Join via Zoom to learn about the role of city and county governments, sheriff's departments, and police within ICE's deportation pipeline, and to hear how migrant-led coalitions have successfully built power in recent years to challenge ICE at the local level. This event is open to all. If you're interested in learning more about the current immigration landscape in the US, migrant justice wins of the past few years that point the way forward, and how to get plugged into our ongoing work in NoVA, this meeting is for you!
