44] – MAPA [info@masspeaceaction.org] on Thursday, March 14 at 7 PM ET is holding a webinar – Oppenheimer: Sins of Omission. The award-winning blockbuster film, Oppenheimer, is a biography of one person who facilitated the building of a weapon that could destroy the earth.  Despite its wide acclaim, Oppenheimer fails to tell the full story—the impacts of the Bomb and the nuclear industry on human beings then and now. The film never attempts to talk about the victims of the bombs dropped on Japan in 1945, nor the victims of the first atomic test in New Mexico, nor the victims of those that worked in uranium mines on the Navajo Reservation, nor the displacement of people—primarily Indigenous —who lived on the present site of Los Alamos National Laboratories, nor the contamination of water and land of the Southwest.

The nuclear power industry has been and continues to be a disaster and has never been a Green alternative. The industry is trying to turn New Mexico, “Land of Enchantment”, into a nuclear sacrifice zone. Hear from Tina Cordova, Tularosa Basin Downwinders Consortium, Leona Morgan – Haul No!, Talavi Denipah Cook – Tewa Women United and Lilly Adams – Union of Concerned Scientists, Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA) Advocate. RSVP at https://secure.everyaction.com/Ht5-Wvs7sE6XEdTAePbtQA2?contactdata=Kh0KWvNSRSr81VdEJBQkdtKylD9o9t%2fbh4ZZSamudOmfG9YxqOElFBMdi07KXtMmKkhkm90WcjE%2fXVV1iKY4zLqHKsQxQiC5aZx6fuFJjQCCLJgiqpP3LqI22BuSH2vrlgyD1++gCecRhufFjwOmWDln7HR9Nd+1SsuvyEYJmjqeeN1haIT66di+hI1wxvGfXRdDmY5rWK0ao3bZmFPwmShdXPGPFSXWvl06r+pVAIA7nAAA3sYNRgmYBsAkFYitbPCTkkfyF8zasMaaPJnxeyhFUZP2A3Z0ZnTuGeCTztVVb1ppN5yZDQmDPUi%2fER+8CG+JTutlNOF+vg23Ecuysw%3d%3d&ms=email-03-12&emci=50a6e096-e8df-ee11-85fb-002248223794&emdi=253992fb-93e0-ee11-85fb-002248223794&ceid=269591

Continue to defend incumbent progressive champions in Congress, and pile on for endorsed challengers. Be laser-focused on bringing those wins home, but also preview our efforts for Squad Member Summer Lee, who is facing a massive AIPAC pushback.

PDA wants you to know that Trump is not the Answer. Defend Democracy, and Defeat Trump and the MAGA Authoritarians. Trump pretends to be a champion of working people while scapegoating millions of hard-working Americans. He has made a habit of mocking those with disabilities, and as he becomes more desperate and deranged on the campaign trail, he has even begun to mock President Biden’s lifelong stutter. The Atlantic writer John Hendrickson sums up Trump’s appeal succinctly: More than Trump’s ugly taunt, one thing stands out to me about these moments: the sound of Trump’s supporters laughing right along with him. This is a building block of Trumpism. The man at the top gives his followers permission to be the worst version of themselves.

To be continued.
