EmPOWER, established in 2008 to enhance statewide energy efficiency, needs support to reach its full potential. If passed, HB864 would align the program with state greenhouse gas reduction goals, increase funds for improvements in homes and multi-family buildings, mandate multilingual outreach for inclusivity and enhance transparency and accountability requirements for utilities. 30] – USCPR Action [contact@uscpr.org] wants you to get involved on Wed., March 13 at 2 PM ET with the Uncommitted campaigns. The Uncommitted movement has secured multiple delegates to the Democratic National Convention, sending a strong message that the people won’t support Biden’s genocidal policies. The pressure has forced the Biden administration to call for a six-week pause, and to consider conditioning military funding if Israel storms Rafah. But Biden needs to cut off that funding to stop the killing now, not after a brutal massacre.

On the Zoom call, pick up the strategies behind Uncommitted campaigns from key organizers. Uncommitted Minnesota lead organizer Asma Nizami and Uncommitted Colorado organizers Andrew Thompson and Grace will break down the tactics their campaigns used to gain significant percentages of the Democratic presidential primary vote in their states. Then, you’ll get to make your calls to Congress and the White House using the latest action tool. Demand a PERMANENT CEASEFIRE NOW and funding care for our communities instead of killing: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/3817101890108/WN_AUhEFAgTTq-mW1ZKYKuQRg?emci=17dd5821-9ee0-ee11-85fb-002248223794&emdi=d68fde2f-aee0-ee11-85fb-002248223794&ceid=5467956#/registration

If you haven’t heard of the Indivisible Truth Brigade before, they are frontline fighters against the disinformation poisoning the minds of people all across the country. Come to the next Persuasion to Power training series event: Combatting Disinfo through Education in Persuasion Conversations with Dr. David Campt on Wed., March 13 at 6:30 PM ET.

Did you know the most effective way to counter disinformation is through compassionate conversation? Many people in our communities who fundamentally support the benefits of government-supported affordable health care and clean energy might even join our cause if they hadn’t been fed misinformation. Join in for White Ally Toolkit Workbook author Dr. David Campt’s hands-on instruction in the R.A.C.E method to open persuadable hearts and minds–and even to heal divisions among friends–through dialogue. You’ll learn WHO to talk with, practice HOW to have pragmatic conversations, and leave with the confidence to bring people along with us. 33] – The Local Peace Economy [peaceeconomy@codepink.org] session will happen on Wed., March 13 at 8 PM ET.  Learn more about Cultivating Peace NOW! Stories have so much power. They shape how we relate to each other, ourselves, and the world around us. Humans have been telling stories since we’ve existed on this planet. The war economy tells us a story that isn’t true - that there is not enough for all of us, that we must compete against each other, that we are fundamentally different and at odds. But we can tell another story, an ancient story, which reveals a different reality and makes space for new possibilities for how we live together. It’s time to crack down on private health insurers who are denying our care! Tune in for a national live stream on Wed., March 13 at 8 PMET with People’s Action about this issue.  UnitedHealth doesn't care. 36] – On Wed., March 13 at 8 PM, Common Cause is holding a Letter to the Editor Party: Freedom to Vote. The freedom to have a say in decisions that impact our lives - from curbing the pandemic to creating jobs to making health care affordable. For months, the American people have been calling for national standards to protect our freedom to vote and have an equal voice in our government. In July of 2023, the Freedom to Vote Act was reintroduced in the Senate. The Freedom to Vote Act is an extremely necessary reform. This important legislation will protect our right to vote, end partisan gerrymandering, counter undemocratic and dangerous election sabotage efforts, and help eliminate the undue influence of dark money in our elections.  Learn how to use our easy-to-use tool to draft a short letter and automatically send it to your local papers and make your voice heard! 37] – Join Common Cause on Wed., March 13 at 8 PM ET for an exclusive webinar, "A Year in Review." Take a journey through the year's triumphs and challenges, where seemingly impossible battles were turned into victories for democracy. From the successful challenge of lawless lawmakers in Moore v. Harper to a steadfast defense of democracy in statehouses across the country, the ACLU has been at the forefront of defending the principles that underpin our democracy. An unwavering commitment to justice led to Donald Trump's indictment, and a major hedge fund's attempt to take over local news was thwarted, ensuring diverse voices continue to be heard.  Visit commoncause.org to join the webinar and continue the journey toward a more just and accountable democracy!

To be continued.
