] – Our Revolution [info@ourrevolution.com] needs you on Thurs., June 8 to join a rally to tell President Biden to stop the Mountain Valley Pipeline! President Biden faced fierce opposition when he approved the Willow oil drilling project. If he does it again with the Mountain Valley Pipeline (a priority of Joe Manchin), the response will be even greater. Gather at the White House at 2 PM ET to demand Biden stop this pipeline! RSVP at https://act.ourrevolution.com/signup/STOP_MVP/?t=11&akid=4352%2E8252965%2Eznm5A8.  By backing Manchin's Dirty Deal, the Biden administration has signaled they are willing to sacrifice Appalachians. For over a century, Appalachia has been deemed a sacrifice zone. The fossil fuel industry has destroyed its wellbeing. We will not let the Mountain Valley Pipeline add to this legacy. We will stop MVP and secure a better, more just future for our home. Let the organizers know if you are willing to risk arrest.

] – On Thurs., June 8 from 4 to 5 PM ET, get with the Public Citizen Democracy Campaign Team virtual Democracy Calls.  These nationwide efforts are aimed at protecting elections and election officials.  Join us on Team Democracy calls to discuss ways we can protect and demand our freedom to vote! Learn ways that we can take action on a state and local level from Shauntay Nelson, Co-Director of States, All Voting is Local Action, Dustin M. Czarny, Onondaga County Elections Commissioner & New York State Election Commissioners Association Democratic Caucus chair, and Denise Lieberman, Director & General Counsel of the Missouri Voter Protection Coalition.  These calls will be on a bi-weekly schedule.  Email democracyaction@citizen.org. RSVP at https://www.mobilize.us/mobilize/event/548559/?followup_modal_context=nonexclusive_newsletter_most_popular_virtual.

] – Jed Weeks, Bikemore [info@bikemore.net] wants you to know about a Mobile Bike Shop on Thurs., June 8 from 4 to 7 PM ET at Druid Hill Park, Baltimore 21217.  RSVP at https://secure.everyaction.com/-VnN05JubUCzb4dInRuN0Q2.

] – Public Citizen [action@citizen.org] wants you to join in on Thurs., June 8 from 4 to 5 PM ET to discuss Future Trump indictments with Norm Eisen. While we’ll have to wait awhile for more news about Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s investigation into Donald Trump, we could see more indictments from different investigations soon: in Georgia: Fulton County, Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis — who is investigating potential interference in Georgia’s 2020 election — said earlier this week that she would make an announcement over the summer (between July 11 and September 1) about whether or not Trump or his allies would be charged. And the Department of Justice is running their own investigations too: Special counsel Jack Smith is investigating Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election, as well as Trump’s handling of classified documents. Also speaking will be the Brennan Center’s Ruby Edlin, and Anat Shenker-Osorio of ASO Communications. RSVP at https://www.mobilize.us/publiccitizeninitiative/event/548559/?utm_source=PCea&emci=3252e5a9-6ae4-ed11-8e8b-00224832eb73&emdi=8a0f367b-6be4-ed11-8e8b-00224832eb73&ceid=24639284.

] – On Thurs., June 8 from 5 to 6 PM ET, get with the Brady Organizing Team for a virtual training. Do you need support from Brady’s organizing team? Have new ideas to combat gun violence, but don’t know how to get them off the ground? Every week, a member of the organizing team is here to support your work. Sign up for the shift that works best for your schedule. If you can't find a time that works for you, email rgonzalez@bradyunited.org to schedule time to talk. RSVP at https://www.mobilize.us/mobilize/event/380248/?followup_modal_context=nonexclusive_newsletter_closest.  This will continue on Thursdays through Dec. 21.

] – On Thurs., June 8 from 6:15 to 7:45 PM ET, the Northern Virginia DSA Branch will hold an Organizing Meeting at the Arlington Central Library, 1015 N. Quincy St., Arlington 22201 or by Zoom. New members are welcome. Discuss current actions and campaigns. As always, the group will address any current issues from the communities and allied organizations. You must be vaxxed/boosted to join all in-person events.  RSVP to this event to access the agenda and also the zoom link: https://actionnetwork.org/events/nova-branch-monthly-organizing-meeting-june-2023?link_id=47&can_id=4b9d4061aec5469758759317ac0f5285&source=email-metro-dc-dsa-weekly-newsletter-for-may-19-2023&email_referrer=email_1931605&email_subject=metro-dc-dsa-weekly-newsletter-for-may-26-2023.

] – There is a Combating Misinformation Workshop Thurs., June 8 and 15 at 7 PM ET at the Cleveland Park Library, 3310 Connecticut Ave. NW, WDC.  Deanna Troust of 3Stories Communications is a highly informed communications professional [who] recently started a new non-profit organization called TruthInCommon.org: http://www.truthincommon.org/.  The June 8 event is 74 years to the day after Orwell published 1984, which is both a crazy coincidence and an ominous jump-off point for the discussion.  Register https://dclibrary.libnet.info/event/8537824. Discuss today's complex information ecosystem, why people embrace and share falsehoods and how we can help stop their spread -- and start talking about the issues again. Email dltroust@gmail.com.

] – The Ploughshares Fund [events@ploughshares.org] wants you to register for Chain Reaction: Navigating Change on Thurs., June 8 at 8 at 8 PM ET.
