After training, during calling hours, you'll be able to schedule shifts on the hour or stop by to call when it's most convenient for you. The invasion of Ukraine, including Putin’s threat to us nuclear weapons, has caused many peace and justice activists great concern. Threats by China over Taiwan have become an exercise in an actual invasion of the island, similar to the attack on Hong Kong. Join Reiner Braun, Executive Director of the International Peace Bureau (Berlin), and Phillis Bennis, Director, New Internationalism Project, Institute for Policy Studies, as they make sense of this fluid and dangerous landscape and offer their prescriptions for how our movements should respond.  Register at https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZwtc-2tqD8pH9BH1Bx3ndVXZUL-wQCPGGkD.

It has been four years since a 500 lb. laser-guided, Lockheed Martin bomb tragically killed 40 children on a school trip in Yemen. Those 40 children's deaths have since been ignored by the Saudi-UAE coalition's supporters and the US continues to funnel military arms to Saudi forces. Raskin did recently in voting against the bloated military budget. Unfortunately, these organizations are not calling on President Putin to end the invasion and to pull out Russian troops.  Putin is playing a major role in contributing to climate chaos.  I wish these activists would demand an end to the invasion which is a war of aggression.

35] – On Tues., Aug. 9 from 8 to 9:30 PM ET, join co-hosts NOPE, Target Majority NYC, Network NOVA, and others for a Swing Left briefing on the very latest polling results from Simon Rosenberg, longtime political strategist and founder of New Democrat Network. Simon is bullish on the prospects for Democrats in the midterms, arguing that outrage over the overturning of Roe v. Wade, disgust with gun violence, and revelations emerging from the January 6 hearings have dramatically altered the electoral prognosis. Contrary to convention, he says, this year’s midterm election will be like the last two elections – it will be decided by the anti-MAGA majority in this country. You'll hear about Swing Left's strategy for winning and ways you can to take action with groups like NOPE. Then Simon will update his mid-summer analysis A New, Bluer Election. His optimism inspires us to give the 2022 election the same energy we gave to our wins in 2018 and 2020.   Register at https://www.mobilize.us/mobilize/event/488092/?followup_modal_context=nonexclusive_newsletter_custom_marketing.
