hosted by the Jane Goodall Institute at the National Geographic Museum,
1145 17th St. NW, WDC 20036. Tickets are at www.nationalgeographic.org. The exhibition will
continue through Summer 2020. Dr. Jane Goodall, DBE, founder of the Jane

world a remarkable window into humankind’s closest living relatives:
chimpanzees. In this hands-on, transportive multimedia exhibition celebrating
her extraordinary life and work, you’ll explore Dr. Goodall’s early years
through iconic images and a multiscreen experience and venture on a 3D
exploration of Tanzania’s Gombe Stream National Park where she did her famous
behavioral research on chimps. You’ll also see a life-size hologram of Dr.
Goodall, enter a replica of her research tent, and learn about her current role
as a leader in community-centered conservation and youth empowerment. Before
you leave, you will find out what you can do today to make a positive impact in
the world.

5] - Usually,
the Baltimore Ethical Society, 2521 St. Paul St., Baltimore 21218, meets on
Sundays, and generally there is a speaker and discussion at 10:30 AM. On
Sun., Mar. 8, the theme is “7
Deadly Sins.” Most humanists reject the concept of “sin” as it relates to
divine judgment. Many liberal religions embrace the idea that human nature, as
flawed as it is, is basically good. So how do humanist process those
personality traits condemned by the bible as “deadly”? How should we regard
pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, and sloth? Come explore with
Hugh Taft-Morales how we as biological creatures might better process these
traits so we can live closer to our lofty ideals. Hugh
Taft-Morales joined the Baltimore Ethical Society as its professional
leader in 2010, the same year he was certified by the American Ethical Union as
an Ethical Culture Leader. He also serves as Leader of the Ethical Humanist
Society of Philadelphia. Call 410-581-2322 or email ask@bmorethical.org.

through the action of meditating together and dedicating prayers for world
peace. The morning includes a guided meditation, talk on Buddhism applied to
daily life & a traditional chanted prayer in English. Everyone is welcome –
you do not need to be a Buddhist to attend– just drop in!
Following the prayers, everyone is welcome to come to the World
Peace Cafe for brunch which always includes pancakes with toppings, and various
other delicious foods such as soup, sandwiches, salad, desserts, coffee and
teas. The suggested donation is $5- to $10/adult & $2/child. Brunch

15] – The
Moment Was Now is a historical musical taking place at Emmanuel Episcopal
Church, 818 Cathedral St., Baltimore. There is a final show on Sun., Mar.
8 at 3:30 PM, The show is set in post-Civil War Baltimore in 1869; a year
before African-American males were given the right to vote. Playwright and
retired labor organizer Gene Bruskin says, “The play reveals the impassioned
search for unity” by now-legendary Americans committed to equality, including
Anthony, the black feminist Frances Harper, the immortal Frederick Douglass,
and his partner in the black labor movement, Isaac Meyers. The question of who
should receive equality under the law—and more vexingly, when—creates the
conflict (argued in full-throated song) at a meeting convened by Douglass.
In perhaps her most powerful line in the play,
Anthony tells Frances Harper: “I will cut my right arm off to stop the Negro
male from getting the ballot” before women. They did and she did not, and the
struggle continued until women got the vote in 1920, roughly a decade-
and-a-half after Anthony’s death. Conceived and Created by Gene Bruskin In collaboration
with Daryl! LC Moch, Director, Glenn Pearson, Musical Director, and Chester
Burke, Jr., Assistant Musical Director. For information on special arrangements
for students and children and for discount group ticket sales, contact themomentwasnow@gmail.com.
