41] Collin Rees, Oil Change International [team@priceofoil.org] hopes you can come to D.C. on Thurs, June 6 from 8 to 9 AM to stop funding fossil fuels. What’s so bad about the U.S. Export-Import (EXIM) Bank? Earlier this year, thousands of people took action to demand EXIM deny USD 500 million in financing for over 400 oil and gas wells in Bahrain. Despite the clear opposition, EXIM approved the loan and is considering even more public funding for fossil fuel projects, including Mozambique LNG. Confront EXIM at the EXIM Annual Conference at 1919 Connecticut Ave. NW, WDC 20009 (on the sidewalk outside the Washington Hilton).  Despite the Biden Administration’s promise to end its international fossil fuel finance by 2022, the Export-Import Bank has given the fossil fuel industry over USD 1 BILLION for new fossil fuel projects in the last 18 months. Moreover, EXIM is considering pouring billions more of public money into new oil and gas projects in Mozambique, Guyana, Papua New Guinea, and Mexico.  RSVP at https://action.priceofoil.org/a/exim_stop_funding_fossils?emci=48a11285-9a1f-ef11-86d2-6045bdd9e096&emdi=a2a2d889-a01f-ef11-86d2-6045bdd9e096&ceid=12642001

We have several vital elections coming up, and we need a full team effort nationwide to bring home these crucial victories. Many primaries are quickly approaching. Squad Member Jamaal Bowman (NY-16) is right in the crosshairs of AIPAC and other dark money players because of his principled progressive stands. Bonnie Watson-Coleman has been endorsed several times, and she's been a stalwart Progressive Caucus Member and champion for Expanded and Improved Medicare for All, Peace, and all of our other issues.  John Padora (CO-04) is a future Squad Member, and an inspiring voice for addressing additional issues, such as economic justice.

46] -- Jed Weeks, Bikemore [jed@bikemore.net] is inviting you on Fri., June 7 from 7:30 to 9 AM to a Bike Breakfast at Fadensonnen/Sophomore Courtyard, West 23rd Street at Maryland Ave. Drop in to talk biking, infrastructure, and upcoming events with Bikemore board members and staff. Breakfast snacks and coffee from Sophomore are provided for free! 47] -- Friends of Sabeel North America [friends@fosna.org] on Fri., June 7 at noon ET will celebrate a One-Year Anniversary of Apartheid-Free Communities. It's been nearly a year since this group was publicly launched. Watching the horrific violence unfold in Gaza, people spent the past year participating in the groundswell of international resistance to Israel's apartheid regime, settler colonialism and military occupation. Join the celebration, and hear what has been accomplished and how to re-commit ourselves to the work ahead of us. This webinar will be part of the AFSC Action Hour series.
