[info@unrwausa.org] is holding a Ban Briefing Call on Zoom to get the facts on
Mon., Jan. 13 at noon ET. The Israeli government’s proposed UNRWA ban is set to
take effect at the end of THIS month, jeopardizing the lives and futures of
millions of Palestinians during the darkest chapter in Palestinian
history. What if we could stop this ban
from happening? Hear directly from UNRWA USA’s Executive Director Mara
Kronenfeld. She will detail the potential impact of the ban and the action
you can take to help protect UNRWA’s vital work for Palestine refugees in the
Gaza Strip and West Bank (including East Jerusalem) before it's too late. RSVP

Email Info: montgomerycountydsa@gmail.com. In July, the Rockville City Council and Mayor voted to end discussion of rent stabilization, leaving Rockville renters unprotected from large rent increases. Despite this, tenants are continuing to advocate for rent stabilization. On January 13, the Council and Mayor will hold a discussion about community engagement and before the Rockville community hearing, tenants will use the community form to call out the Council and Mayor for failing to heed the hours of community input asking them to pass rent stabilization. The building is around a 15 minute walk away from the Rockville Metro Station, and parking is available on the street outside of City Hall.

18] – CODEPINK [info@codepink.org] wants you to join in on Mon., Jan. 13 at 8 PM ET for Missing Peace Monday. Participating will be filmmaker, Rifat Audeh, creator of the award winning film, "The Truth: Lost At Sea." This award-winning debut film, first released in 2017, updated and re-released in 2019, participated in 28 film festivals internationally, garnering 8 awards. The film reveals the Israeli attack on the 2010 Freedom Flotilla, a convoy of humanitarian ships which tried to highlight the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza, and break its blockade. Shot from aboard the Freedom Flotilla, directed and narrated by one of its survivors and following up on subsequent media coverage, the film shows how the dead activists and their comrades who defended their vessels were portrayed. The film reveals what really happened and how it was spun in traditional and online media outlets, belying Israeli propaganda. Bring questions for Rifat and get ready to take action for Palestine!
