24] – Massachusetts Peace Action [info@masspeaceaction.org] is hosting a webinar on Mon., Sept. 12 at 7 PM ET -- The Future of the Korean Peninsula: Current Conflict, Future Peace with John Feffer, Institute for Policy Studies. The two Koreas have never seemed further apart. The election of a conservative president in South Korea and the growing isolation of North Korea because of COVID and continuing sanctions seem to make peace and reunification even less likely in the short term. At the geopolitical level, the war in Ukraine and increased U.S.-China tensions have widened divisions on the Korean peninsula. And there appears to be little progress on the diplomatic front between the United States and North Korea. However, other trends point to possible cooperation across the Cold War divide — not only on the Korean peninsula but in the region as a whole.
