] – Michael Beer, Nonviolence International [info@nonviolenceinternational.net] is telling us about a book launch on Thurs., Feb. 10 at 11 AM ET for Peter Ackerman’s The Checklist to End Tyranny. ‌ Ackerman gathers and arranges the best and most cutting-edge research on civil resistance and combines it with a checklist procedure that he personally experienced in his work on Wall Street. This book is the culmination of 20 years of experience and research generated by the International Center on Nonviolent Conflict, which he founded, and it provides a guide for activists facing severe repression, tyrants, and occupation. Discussants are a star panel, including Peter Ackerman, Mubarak Awad, Maria Stephan, and Bayingana Simon Peter. The event will be hosted by Rafif Joujati. You can download the book or request paper copies to be mailed for free here: https://www.nonviolent-conflict.org/checklist/.

] – Beth Schuman [beth@afcfp.org] wants you to attend Gaza 101 on Thurs., Feb. 10 from 12:30 to 2 PM ET.  Register at https://afcfp.org/gaza-101/?emci=c8e8874e-b989-ec11-a507-281878b83d8a&emdi=48f5b36e-ef89-ec11-a507-281878b83d8a&ceid=8142762. This is the first of four mini-courses.  The other dates are Feb. 17, Feb. 24 and March 3. Each mini-course covers a separate subject -- History, Politics, Culture & Economics. The course will be taught by Combatants for Peace, Churches for Middle East Peace and The Arab American Institute. Discussions of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the West all too often neglect to include Gaza and the voices of Palestinians there, seemingly because the situation is seen to be too overwhelming or challenging to take-on.

] – There is a Watch Party for a Senate Hearing on the Time to Care Act on Thurs., Feb. 10 from 1 to 3 PM ET by Zoom Video Conference. Tune in to the Senate Finance committee hearing of the Time to Care Act with Jews United for Justice! The hearing is scheduled to begin at 1 PM, but the exact time the bill will be heard is unclear. As of now, the bill is scheduled to be heard 7th. Register at https://www.mobilize.us/dfadcoalition/event/376178/?followup_modal_context=newsletter. Get involved with Voter Protection Phone banks with Common Cause and call voters in targeted states and connect them to their senators to drive calls of accountability and appreciation around the vote on the Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Act. And begin to advocate for No Excuse Absentee Voting in Delaware and recruit poll monitors for the Texas primary.

] –  For the Freedom To Vote Act, there is phone bank training & calling into West Virginia with a patch through to Senator Manchin on Thursdays from 6 to 8 PM.  This will continue through Mar. 31. You will need a computer and a telephone (cell or house). Unfortunately, tablets and iPads are incompatible with ThruTalk and will not work effectively. You will also need to download a web browser like Chrome or Firefox. Safari is incompatible with ThruTalk. With over 400 state bills introduced by extremist lawmakers--including in West Virginia--aiming to put up barriers to vote just this year, we cannot afford to fail to pass this bill.  Sign up at https://www.mobilize.us/dfadcoalition/event/409469/.

] – On Throwdown Thursdays phone bank or text bank with the team from 6 to 8 PM ET. Every week call or text voters across the state about a number of important issues. 47] – Our Revolution [info@ourrevolution.com] would like you to phone bank on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:30 PM ET. There are more than 8 million voters across the country who identify as progressive. These numbers suggest progressives can win at every level of government, but the voters must go to the polls! Sign up to join the Our Revolution phonebank force at https://www.mobilize.us/ourrevolution/event/440081/?akid=2556.8252965.t1Ai8m&rd=1&t=11.  Sign up for Thurs., Feb. 10.

] – Rachel Queirolo, BoldProgressives.org [info@BoldProgressives.org] wants you to support a progressive candidate on Thurs., Feb. 10 at 7 PM ET. Meet rising star Erica Smith on Zoom. She's the rare Democrat running for Congress making a progressive economic case to farmers and rural voters…and it’s working! Erica will speak about how she’s bringing rural voters to enthusiastically support progressive policies such as Medicare for All, universal broadband, and even a Green New Deal.

] –  Januari McKay, Progressive Maryland’s endorsed candidate for State Delegate in District 23B, is holding a virtual fundraising event for her campaign on Thurs., Feb. 10 at 7 PM! RSVP at https://secure.actblue.com/donate/md23charcuterie. RSVP at bit.ly/MD23Charcuterie.
