15] – Will you join two upcoming events Environmental Defense Fund is hosting on Mon., Oct. 26 at 2 PM EDT and Thurs., Nov. 5 at 3 PM.  With an historic election upon us, charting a path forward on climate change has never been more critical. Join these conversations on the latest climate science and how we can continue to defend and protect the health of our planet in the years ahead.  Every day science tells us more about the impact climate change is having on our lives now—including the catastrophic wildfires in the West and hurricanes on the Gulf Coast.

On Oct. 26,  join EDF Senior Climate Scientist and Streisand Chair of Environmental Science Ilissa Ocko for a primer on the latest science, which increasingly shows the connection between climate change and the impacts we are seeing today—and will see in the future.  An historic election is upon us. No matter the results, now is the time to come together and redouble our efforts to combat the existential threat of climate change.

On Oct. 26, join Fred Krupp and EDF experts for a post-election insider look at the paths forward on climate change. Whether it’s federal legislation, state action, bolstering efforts outside the U.S. or all three, we will win this fight together.

31] –-Register for this online event Uniting Against White Supremacy: A Conversation with Integrity First for America and J Street at https://www.hias.org/get-involved/events/uniting-against-white-supremacy-conversation-integrity-first-america-and-hias on Tues., Oct. 27 from 3 to 4 PM ET.  In August 2017, hundreds of white supremacists and neo-Nazis invaded Charlottesville, Virginia in a meticulously planned, racist conspiracy to cause violence. Since that time, two deadly and unprecedented attacks against synagogues have taken place in the U.S., fueled by a toxic combination of anti-Semitism, racism, and anti-immigrant hate. Join Amy Spitalnick, Executive Director from Integrity First for America, as she talks about her organization’s landmark lawsuit against the neo-Nazi and white supremacist leaders and hate groups responsible for the Charlottesville attack. The call will be moderated by Rabbi Rachel Grant Meyer, rabbi-in-residence from HIAS, who will open by marking the passage of two years since the attack in Pittsburgh and will moderate a conversation about larger patterns of anti-Semitic and anti-refugee hatred.

32] – The deadline is 2030. If we want even a chance of avoiding catastrophic runaway climate chaos, then that is the year by which we need to cut global emissions by half. Four more years of Trump will mean we have next to no chance of meeting that deadline, at which point the future of organized human society would be in severe peril. The #VoteTrumpOut campaign is contacting thousands of swing voters on Facebook every day, and your help is needed.  Volunteer Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays with the Digital Canvass team, and help flip a crucial swing state! Everyone who can should be giving time to help save our planet from this aspiring tyrant. 37] – Do this workshop “How to Beat an Election-Related Power Grab” on Tues., Oct. 27 from 7:30 to 9:30 PM EST. Nonviolent mass protests have stopped coups in other places, and we may have to do the same in this country. When the public refuses to accept the coup as legitimate, coups fall apart. Refusal looks like millions of people using nonviolent tools to delegitimize the coup by demonstrating, resisting orders, and shutting down the country until democracy prevails.

Join this national workshop led by George Lakey, with Zein Nakhoda. Lakey has led over 1500 workshops on five continents.  Nakhoda (he/him) is a Core Trainer and Director at Training for Change.
