] – On Wed., Sept. 23 at 6:30 PM, check out the Progressive Maryland Fair Elections Taskforce Meeting. Go over the effort to address the corrupt campaign finance system in Anne Arundel County. Sign up here for the Zoom conference at https://secure.everyaction.com/O4Pwtag2v0mpkuRyRX5Jvw2.

] – Team AOC is hosting a workshop Inside/Outside: Supporting Incarcerated Loved Ones on Wed., Sept. 23 at 7 PM.  Look at https://www.mobilize.us/ocasiocortez/.

] – On Wed., Sept. 23 from 7 to 8 PM, catch a Conversation with Professor Ron: Leadership and Race, hosted by the Enoch Pratt Free Library. Race is an historical and ongoing conversation, but rarely framed in the context of leadership. Now more than ever, we need leadership that can properly shape racial dialogue, policy, and impact on our society. What kind of leadership is necessary to facilitate healthy relationships between races, and policymaking that will foster equity, inclusion, diversity and harmony? How do we as citizens groom such leaders? Join ethics professor, performance artist and activist Ron Kipling Williams in an in-depth conversation about leadership and race.  Email events@prattlibrary.org to register and to receive the virtual login information

] – “The Cost of Loyalty: Dishonesty, Hubris, and Failure in the U.S. Military” with Tim Bakken will take place on Wed., Sept. 23 at 7 PM as a Zoom presentation.   RSVP at James@CommitteefortheRepublic.org.   You must RSVP to obtain the meeting code. Guests are welcome if you include their email address in your RSVP. Public opinion polls show the American people understand Congress is not doing its job. But the same polls reveal the public doesn’t understand the dismal record of the American military. West Point Professor of Law, Tim Bakken, will discuss his new book arguing that an inflated sense of loyalty is responsible for the failure of our military. Bakken was a successful whistleblower on West Point corruption.

] –Join Jews United for Justice on Wed., Sept. 23 from 7:30 to 9:30 PM for a community meeting to discuss what's next for a special session, as well as updates on COVID-19 response work, housing rights, policing, and decarceration efforts.  RSVP at https://jufj.org/report-maryland-special-session-action/?emci=17b4fc2b-53fc-ea11-96f5-00155d03affc&emdi=194641c5-1bfd-ea11-96f5-00155d03affc&ceid=3403859.

] – Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) will lead an all-star virtual town hall event for health care justice on Wed., Sept. 23 at 8 PM ET. Visit https://publiccitizen.salsalabs.org/healthjustice/index.html?link_id=1&can_id=4b9d4061aec5469758759317ac0f5285&source=email-join-sen-sanders-rep-jayapal-for-an-all-star-town-hall-tomorrow&email_referrer=email_932143&email_subject=join-sen-sanders-rep-jayapal-for-an-all-star-town-hall-tomorrow. COVID-19 has fully exposed the dangers of our for-profit health care system. The Senate is determined to confirm a new Supreme Court justice to overturn the ACA, but not to ensure health care and relief for those who need it during the pandemic. It’s time to take the grassroots movement to win Medicare for All to the next level.

The forum will feature Rachel Bronson, President and CEO - The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, Richard Rhodes, author and historian, Ambassador Thomas Graham, Jr., Jessica Sleight, Program Director - Global Zero and Alexandra Bell, Senior Policy Director -- The Center for Arms Control & Non-Proliferation.
