The documentary depicts how Starbucks workers founded their own union in 2021 in Buffalo, NY, while overcoming extensive union-busting. The Buffalo campaign started a “one-store-at-a time” approach, which led to about 691 unionized Starbucks in the U.S. today. The DC Labor Heritage Foundation sponsors the film as part of its annual DC Labor FilmFest. A panel of local Starbucks union organizers will share their experiences following the film. Come learn what it takes to build a new union and why it matters.
