] – THE ORGANIZING LIST will be the primary decision-making mechanism of the National Campaign of Nonviolent Resistance [NCNR].  It will be augmented by conference calls and possibly in-person meetings as needed.  It will consist of 1 or 2 representatives from each local, regional, or national organization (not coalitions) that wishes to actively work to carry out the NCNR campaign of facilitating and organizing nonviolent resistance to U.S. wars.

To join the ORGANIZING List, please send your name, group affiliation, city and email address to mobuszewski2001 at Comcast dot net.  Different local chapters of a national organization are encouraged to subscribe.

] - Suzanne Fontanesi and Jeff Ross are in the beginning stages of renovating the basement of their house for purposes of bringing in a volunteer (targeting young adults in discernment mode), starting next fall. They are trying to grow a Catholic Worker House in Irvington (West Baltimore). In a nutshell, there is a lot that a volunteer could do in that neighborhood/Baltimore, in addition to prayer and daily community living and in addition to plugging into all the good work that people are already doing in and around Baltimore (and beyond).  If you think you might know of anyone who might be interested in starting a conversation with them about becoming such a volunteer/community member, please contact Jeff/Suzanne at 443-690-6872.

] – Max is in need of a garage or a storage space.  Any suggestions would be welcome.  Contact Max at 410-323-1607 or mobuszewski2001 at Comcast dot net.

] – Is there a woman in the Baltimore area who does house cleaning?  This assignment would be on an irregular basis with several hours per week.  Contact Max at 410-323-1607 or mobuszewski2001 at Comcast dot net.

] – Usually, the Baltimore Ethical Society, 2521 St. Paul St., Baltimore 21218, meets on Sundays, and generally there is a speaker and discussion at 10:30 AM.  On Sun., June 6, it is “Reflections on This Season of Graduation.”  In a season of graduation, where students meet a so-called ‘end of the road’ for high school and/or college; the dead end is always met with the question, what is next? What happens after it’s all said and done? For many of us in life, we never see another graduation or degree(s), and we find ourselves asking yet again what’s next?  Join Jé Exodus Hooper in a discussion of life’s graduation and a path that leads into a site of memory. Jé Exodus Hooper (they/them) teaches Theatre History, current PhD candidate within the School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Ethical Humanist clergy. Both as performer and clergy within the Ethical Culture Movement and First Unitarian Society of Minneapolis, their ritual-based performance is grounded in the act of homiletics, decolonial Humanism and Black Intellectual Thought. Jé’s love for orality involves the aesthetic of Black folk-talk – one of imagination as meaning-making. Their word-working emphasizes human freedom and interconnectedness through embodiment, intuition, creativity, and improvisation. These kinds of transdisciplinary approaches console and agitate communities in re-imagining and re-claiming narratives that honor the inherited worth and dignity within all people – a love-work that Jé is committed to! The Zoom link and more info can be obtained at PRESIDENT@BMORETHICAL.ORG for INFORMATION.

] – The Rosenberg Fund for Children is excited to announce  the June 8th release of bestselling author Anne Sebba's new biography Ethel Rosenberg: An American Tragedy. Ethel's history is reemerging in public consciousness, and 70 years following her conviction it's clear that justice for Ethel matters as much as ever. Join virtually with Jenn Meeropol on “Exonerating Ethel” for the CCB Speaker Series on Sun., June 6 at 11 AM EST. In 1951, at the height of the McCarthy era, Ethel Rosenberg was convicted of “conspiracy to commit espionage” alongside her husband Julius in a trial that would come to symbolize “Red Scare” hysteria and the U.S.’s willingness to commit injustices in the name of national security. 70 years later, RFC Exec. Director Jenn Meeropol (and Ethel's granddaughter) will discuss why justice for Ethel still matters, what was learned during the 2016 campaign to exonerate Ethel, and the exciting possibility of a relaunch in the months to come. This online event is hosted by the Community Church of Boston. It is free and open to the public. Join the live, online event on Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89552575898?pwd=K1ZRMkRNejlpRnZZakFRWnE0aUh3Zz09#success or on the You Tube live stream at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxzqBfbtvnhNKWmzpCm0lIA/videosat.

] – Friends of the Earth Action [info@foeaction.org] is seeking your help in Getting out the vote for Richard Walker, an opponent of the Atlantic Coast Pipeline! This was Duke and Dominion Energy’s fracked gas pipeline -- which would have been an environmental nightmare. RSVP at https://www.mobilize.us/leadlocally/event/388473/?utm_source=foe.  The Atlantic Coast Pipeline would have moved fracked gas from West Virginia through Virginia and into North Carolina. It would have generated more than 67 million metric tons of global warming pollution yearly -- all while threatening local communities, wildlife, and drinking water. Walker is running for the House of Delegates in Virginia and needs your help, and there is a need for activists like you to call environmental voters in Virginia. Call on Sun., June 6 from 4 to 6 PM ET and Mon., June 7 from 6 to 7 PM ET.  All you need is a phone and computer with internet access.

] – Dr Bill Honigman for Progressive Democrats of America [info@pdamerica.org] wants you to sign up for the Sun.,  June 6 at 4 PM ET Healthcare Emergency Town Hall with Rep. Joe Neguse. Once again, PDA points out that while relief is at long last here for so many, the equivalent of two jumbo jets full of innocent Americans, about 600 precious souls, are still dying every day in the continuing #COVID19 pandemic. The inexcusably poor public health response to this healthcare emergency and those unscrupulous profiteers in the medical industrial complex, especially Big Insurance and Big Pharma, are most notably to blame. Ask the Biden/Harris administration and all Members of Congress of good intention to do the right thing. Follow the science, and implement now—not months, years, or decades from now—a #SinglePayer expanded and improved #MedicareForAll system. We know #MedicareForAll will save money—lots of money—and save lives—lots of lives—especially so many of those lives still being lost to this pandemic, and those lives that will be lost in the pandemics yet to come.  The special guest is Vice Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. Register at https://zoom.us/meeting/register/tJ0tceuhrzsvHdymeeZRwb-i7X50FJa-HMR4.

] – Ben Wikler, WisDems Chair [info@boldprogressives.org] is inviting you on Sun., June 6 at 6 PM ET to “All Eyes On Wisconsin” -- a LIVE Strategy Session on How Democrats Can Win In 2022 & Beyond. RSVP at https://secure.actblue.com/donate/all-eyes-on-wisconsin-pccc?akid=80070.6171160.7qshE-&amount=28&rd=1&refcode=digital-email-june2-pccc-national-list&refcode2=80070_6171160_7qshE-&t=16.  Wisconsin is on a perpetual knife’s edge. It is the only state in the country that’s had under 1% margins in 4 of the last 6 presidential elections. Governor Tony Evers won by 1.1% in 2018. The awful Senator Ron Johnson is the most vulnerable incumbent in the Senate, and he’s up for re-election in 2022. The fight to defeat Ron Johnson could determine the Senate majority next year. AND, the House majority is up for grabs. So Wisconsin’s fate in this cycle has massive ramifications.

There are two reasons the Speaker of the House, the Majority Leader of the U.S. Senate, and the Chair of the Democratic National Committee are headlining a virtual event for a state party: 1) Wisconsin matters, and 2) the work of the WisDems will make a huge difference. Your donation will go toward defeating Ron Johnson and defending Democratic majorities in Congress. Most people are chipping in $28! After donating, you'll be able to submit questions for Speaker Pelosi, Leader Schumer, Chair Harrison, and Chair Wikler to address live on air. You'll receive details on how to access this event in the confirmation email. Please email info@wisdems.org with any questions.

] – There is a weekly Pentagon Peace Vigil from 7 to 8 AM on Mondays, since 1987, outside the Pentagon Metro stop.  The next vigil is June 7 and it is sponsored by the Dorothy Day Catholic Worker.  Email artlaffin@hotmail.com or call 202-882-9649.  The vigil will be outside the Pentagon's south Metro entrance and in the designated "protest zone" behind bicycle fences across from the entrance to the Metro.  By Metro, take Yellow Line and get out at the "Pentagon" stop. Do not go to the Pentagon City stop! Go up south escalators and turn left and walk across to protest area. By car from D.C. area, take 395 South and get off at Exit 8A-Pentagon South Parking. Take slight right onto S. Rotary Rd. at end of ramp and right on S. Fern St. Then take left onto Army Navy Dr. You can "pay to park" on Army Navy Dr.,  and there is meter parking one block on right on Eads St. Payment for both of these spots begin at 8 AM.  No cameras are allowed on Pentagon grounds. Restrooms are located inside Marriott Residence Inn on corner of S. Fern and Army Navy Dr.

] – Sign up for War and the Environment, an Online Course running on Mon., June 7 from noon to 1 PM EDT through Sun., July 18 from noon to 1 PM ET.  This is a six week online course will provide participants an opportunity to learn from, dialogue with, and strategize for change with World BEYOND War experts, peer activists, and changemakers from around the world. The cost is $100, but you can pay less or more.  Contact Phill at education@worldbeyondwar.org.  Week #1 is Where Wars Happen and Why (June 7-13) with Dr. Serena Clark.

] – Zillah Wesley, DMV Coordinator, The Poor People's Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival [zillah@poorpeoplescampaign.org] is asking you to come to D.C. on Mon., June 7 at noon ET. Demand a Third Reconstruction in America. D.C. will join over 40 states in holding a local press conference to demand that their US representatives demonstrate their political and moral commitment to ending poverty by signing on to a Congressional Resolution titled, "Third Reconstruction: Fully Addressing Poverty and Low-Wages from the bottom up." The DC Poor People's Campaign is proud that its congressional representative, Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton, has already signed on to this Resolution. With this resolution, (1) acknowledge the deep harms we have suffered from systemic racism, poverty, ecological devastation and the denial of health care, militarism and the false narrative of white supremacist nationalist extremism and (2) commit to heal and transform the nation by addressing these interlocking injustices, beginning with those most impacted, with moral and just laws and policies. Gather outside Del. Norton's District Office on the sidewalk in front of the Reagan Building, 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, WDC 20004. Email washingtondc@poorpeoplescampaign.org.

] – Communities United [jessi@communitiesunite.org] is sending out an action alert for Mon., June 7 at 4 PM ET for a Banner Drop and Rally! Meet at MLK & Druid Hill. Rally or drive by and honk at the #Defund2Refund Banner!  City Hall is not listening. Let's make some NOISE in Councilmember Costello's neighborhood.  Almost every resident testifying at the Baltimore Board of Estimates (BOE) “Taxpayer Night” on April 21 urged a cut, NOT an increase to the city’s police department budget! The hearing on the police budget hearing will be MONDAY afternoon. They will be rationalizing a $28 million increase for the police, in the face of cities across the country - whose departments were already LESS costly than ours - figuring out how to cut their police budgets!  Baltimore already spends more per resident on police than 72 of the largest U.S. cities. For every dollar spent on police, 51 cents was spent on schools, 15 cents for housing, 13 cents for human services, 6 cents for job development and a mere penny on substance abuse and mental health.  Call 410-212-2225.

] –On Mon., June 6 at 5 PM ET, attend the biweekly Clean Air Baltimore Coalition meeting. Join in by Zoom at www.cleanairbmore.org/meeting. 17] – The Indivisible Training Team is holding advocacy trainings!  On Mon., June 7 at 8 PM ET, there is a training State Legislative Advocacy Series: Advocacy in a Pandemic. COVID-19 has impacted our communities in immeasurable ways, and highlighted how important it is for us to continue advocating for legislation that will help our communities. Attend this webinar to learn tactics you can use to keep up the pressure, while staying safe. Join a training Building Inclusive Groups on Tues., June 8 at 8 PM ET.  This training will be repeated on Thurs., June 10 at 3 PM ET. The January 6 insurrection was more than an attack on our Capitol and our democracy. It was an opening salvo on increased attacks on Black and Brown people by the Republican Party. Now more than ever, it is critical that Indivisible groups build strong inclusive communities that reflect the mosaic of our country. In this webinar, cover what it means to organize from an anti-racist perspective, the impact of white privilege and white supremacy in team dynamics, and how to co-create an inclusive group.  Register at https://indivisible.org/indivisible-distributed-technology-training-day-registration?akid=72087.839288.EZksew&rd=1&t=5&utm_medium=_link1_20210517&utm_source=email.

] – Chris Scott, Democracy for America [info@democracyforamerica.com] is looking for volunteers to Text out the vote now in Virginia on Tues., June 8 at noon ET. Corporate establishment Democrats on Wall Street and in the DC bubble are getting nervous because of smart, progressive, and diverse candidates like Jennifer Carroll Foy, Sam Rasoul, and Jay Jones are challenging their power in Virginia. During their time in public office, these DFA endorsed progressives have fought for Medicaid expansion that will give health care to 400,000 people, took on corruption in Government, and launched a Green New Deal Coalition to push for intersectional environmental, social, and economic justice. With less than one week until the June 8th primary, you can turn the party a new progressive shade of blue. Can you step up for Jennifer Carroll Foy, Sam Rasoul, and Jay Jones right now by texting out the vote? SIGN UP at http://act.democracyforamerica.com/survey/TextVA/?refcode=g-TOTV0602.d-20210602.m-26710.s-176943&akid=26710%2E4066212%2EyfDjgp.

] – We Have a Do-or-Die, Time-Limited Chance to Defeat White Supremacy and Big Money. If you want equal protection so that every voter counts the same regardless of color, income, age, or neighborhood, now is the time to act. If you want freedom from the influence of big money, now is the time to act. In the next months, action by people like you can create a groundswell to pass three major bills (see details in box below). One of them (S. 1) would provide sweeping reforms to end special-interest corruption in our government. Congress must act early this summer or partisan redistricting – based on a flawed census – will have happened. The House of Representatives has the votes to pass these bills, and they can pass the Senate, too - but only if We the People let our senators know how we feel.

If these bills do not pass, action by some state legislatures will reduce the freedom to vote for targeted populations. Get Money Out – Maryland (GMOM) founded For the People – Maryland with 20 other groups to fight for these principles in the U.S. Congress.  Therefore, the filibuster rule will need to change to allow these bills to pass with a simple majority.

While there are several Senators who haven’t formally committed, people in-the-know say if we can convince WV Senator Joe Manchin, the others will come along. Opponents are putting lots of money into WV, and we need to fight back. WV residents tell us that Manchin is often willing to do a 180 degree turn if he gets enough pressure. Volunteers asking his constituents to contact him could trigger the biggest reform since the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Make calls to WV residents on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Please sign up to call on Tues., June 8 from 5:30 to 8 PM ET and try to convince one friend to do so also!  There is good training and support throughout!  Go to https://www.mobilize.us/vopropros/event/389987/.  CALL WEST VIRGINIANS.

] – Joe Bonfigilo, EDF Action [takeaction@email.edfaction.org] is inviting you to join in on Tues., June 8 at 7 PM ET for a Digital Town Hall on S1, the For the People Act! The freedom to vote is fundamental to democracy, but states continue to try to take this away. Just this past weekend Texas joined Arizona, Florida, and Georgia by becoming the most recent state to attempt to pass a bill to restrict this freedom with voter suppression laws. Organizations in the environmental community will inform you how you can support this important movement to protect voter rights.  RSVP at https://www.mobilize.us/edfaction/event/392046/.

] – Justin Kwasa [feedback@lcv.org] is inviting you to take in The Attack on State Voting Rights and the For the People Act on Tues., June 8 from 7 to 8 PM ET. This Teach in/Town Hall has multiple organizations in the environmental community (including Sierra Club, Greenpeace, and Environmental Defense Fund) and will focus on the national assault on our freedom to vote and how the For the People Act, arguably the most consequential people-empowering legislation since the Voting Rights Act of 1965, returns the power back to the voters, where it belongs. RSVP at https://p2a.co/GFWX6jw. Hear from state leaders, including Florida Conservation Voters' own Civic Engagement Director Jalsa Giles, who has been front and center in these fights and learn how you can join the thousands of voices across the country in calling for the passage of the For the People Act, S1. The time is now, with the bill recently announced to be appearing before the Senate the last week of June. Let's stand together for our freedom to vote and our ability to use our voice in our democracy.

] – On Tues., June 8 from 7 to 8:30 PM ET, get with the Animal Bereavement Support Group at the Baltimore Humane Society, 1601 Nicodemus Road, Reisterstown 21136. This will continue each Tuesday, through August 3. See https://www.facebook.com/BMOREHUMANE/.  The loss of an animal can be a devastating blow. Our friends are often loved as a member of our family, and we believe their passing should be treated with the same respect. RSVP to vvanhof@bmorehumane.org.

] – Check out the Quaker Social Change Ministry: Deepen work for racial justice on Tues., June 8 at 7:30 PM ET. The Ministry provides a simple but transformative approach to doing social change work, bringing together small groups of Friends to focus on an issue that connects the congregation, the local community, and AFSC. In this session, AFSC’s Lucy Duncan will offer an overview of the model, including developing a covenant or shared spiritual agreements, sharing spiritual practice and worship, and using storytelling as a way to connect with one another and grow as practitioners of accompaniment. This will be followed by time in smaller groups to discuss how you might use this model in your local faith or social justice group. .Register at https://www.afsc.org/action/quaker-social-change-ministry-vehicle-deepening-work-racial-justice?contactdata=PbeJVqltNL7QMxQLUEWpcqMe6KlK5DQ1WApWZlncNzn59Gszx3%2bfoEM5N0qqeOHNsWiSvlz%2fONnuVvGkDFltQ3jv75IFAm4AS2dV40VA9%2fvIH20UgfqfUav4srqlWij%2fxy1g2cJvNZkrDCtJqK5DIiTTqFTtc5TFJt7AhYw26lEMdfUh4JWBdBlpPx2e5Pk8FbHa4ZaOa7zbbSlzW4gnWNX6QXjPdZIMg2OjZm%2bs%2fe8Pob2lEnho7Xjpoa5VcqBr0C6SPlEQysRT3iNTbxLviA%3d%3d&ms=EMA21AP0601&emci=a6d0e2a3-bbbf-eb11-a7ad-501ac57b8fa7&emdi=5561a00c-eac2-eb11-a7ad-501ac57b8fa7&ceid=764241.
