30] – On Tues., Jan. 13 from 10 AM to 1:30 PM, get outside the Supreme Court as the jurists will hear oral arguments in two cases: West Virginia v. BPJ and Little v. Hecox. The plaintiffs in these cases argue that laws passed in West Virginia and Idaho to ban transgender youth from school sports teams that align with their gender identity violate both Title IX and the Equal Protection Clause of the Constitution. These bans aren’t about "protecting" anyone -- they’re about extremists wanting to police gender and gender expression. Every child has a right to feel safe to be exactly who they are in school. Register to be at the rally: https://www.mobilize.us/lambdalegal/event/874545/

31] –  Join Indivisible, MoveOn Civic Action, Public Citizen, ACLU, Movimiento Migrante DC, Free DC, and more in Washington, D.C. to tell Congress: take action now to get ICE Out for Good.  On Tues., Jan. 13 from 5 to 6 PM at U.S. Customs & Border Protection, 1300 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, WDC 20004, Sen. Chris Murphy and Rep. Maxwell Frost will headline a rally and vigil to build momentum for reining in the abuses of President Trump’s reckless and violent immigration enforcement agencies and for kicking ICE out of Minnesota and our communities nationwide. RSVP at https://www.mobilize.us/indivisible/event/884962/?source=indivisible&utm_source=indivisible&utm_medium=email

32] – Massachusetts Peace Action Education Fund [info@masspeaceaction.org] on Tues., Jan. 13 at 7 PM ET hopes you will attend a webinar: What's going on in Palestine with Richard Falk and Phyllis Bennis. They will examine Trump's "Peace Proposal." the UN Security Council resolution, and the future of Gaza. Bennis and Falk will focus on the developments on the ground in Gaza, the US role and Trump’s “peace” plan, the consequences of the latest UN Security Council resolution, and what the UN has done and failed to do regarding the genocide.  They will also talk about the current situation in the West Bank. Bennis is Program Director at the Institute for Policy Studies; and Falk is former UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Territories for the UN Human Rights Council 2008-2014. Paul will speak about what it would take to establish a more just US policy in the Middle East. Paul is co-founder of A New Policy. He resigned from the State Department in October, 2023 over his disagreement with the Biden Administration’s decision to rush lethal military assistance to Israel amid its war on Gaza. Paul had previously spent over 11 years working as a Director in the Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, which is responsible for U.S. defense diplomacy, security assistance, and arms transfers. He is a recipient of the 2023 Callaway Award for Civic Courage and 2024 MedGlobal Award for Courage. Paul is sponsored by the Center for Nonviolent Solutions and Community Alliance for Peace and Justice. RSVP at https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/fQw4IaTCT7WIaDvdX5ZZCQ#/registration

37] – In March, the Trump Administration signed an executive order to end collective bargaining for 85% of the unionized federal workforce. The Protect America’s Workforce Act (PAWA) would restore these union rights by voiding the March executive order and requiring the administration to abide by collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) for the length of their stated terms. PAWA passed the House on a bipartisan vote on December 11, and there is a real chance of getting this bill passed through the Senate. To push it past the finish line, a host of local organizations and unions, including FUN DMV Hub, Federal Unionists Network, Free DC, and 50501 DC are sponsoring Rally for America's Workforce on Wed., Jan. 14 from noon to 1:30 PM in the Upper Senate Park, 200 New Jersey Ave. NW, WDC 20001.RSVP at https://actionnetwork.org/events/rally-for-americas-workforce-pawa-to-the-people/?link_id=15&can_id=4b9d4061aec5469758759317ac0f5285&source=email-metro-dc-dsa-weekly-newsletter-for-december-19-2025&email_referrer=email_3037652&email_subject=metro-dc-dsa-weekly-newsletter-for-january-2-2026&&
