The present way of life is a war against our bodies.    Amidst the perpetual crises of capitalism is a careful resistance—organized by medical professionals and community members, students and workers, citizens and migrants. For Health Autonomy: Horizons of Care Beyond Austerity—Reflections from Greece explores the landscape of care spaces coordinated by autonomous collectives in Greece. These projects operate in fierce resistance to austerity, state violence and abandonment, and the neoliberal structure of the healthcare industry that are failing people.  For Health Autonomy is a powerful collection of first-hand accounts of those who join together to build new possibilities of care and develop concrete alternatives based on the collective ability of communities and care workers to replace a dependency on police and prisons. Go to http://redemmas.org/.

Sign up to risk arrest: firedrillfridays.com/jan-10.  We can’t burn all of the known oil, coal and gas reserves currently known to the fossil fuel companies and still have a livable climate (or in other words, stay within the remaining “carbon budget” / the 1.5 to 2 degree Celsius increase range).

So then, why are fossil fuel companies still looking for more fossil fuels that they can’t ever burn without endangering human civilization and all coastal cities of the world? And why are the big Wall Street banks and other international financial institutions still investing in helping companies drill, dig and explore for even more fossil fuel reserves we can never burn?

One of the worst offenders is JP Morgan Chase, a financial institution that is one of the largest sources of capital to the fossil fuel industry in their quest to drill oceans, frack our land and build more pipelines. We cannot let Chase and so many other financial institutions continue this way! Learn more about this big climate fight for 2020, and receive a very special update about Jane and Greenpeace USA's plans for Fire Drill Fridays. Jane will be joined by Naomi Klein, Greenpeace USA's Annie Leonard, 350.org's Bill McKibben, Joaquin Phoenix, Martin Sheen and more. See https://www.facebook.com/events/3141168239231624/.
