Go to https://lwv-arlingtonva.org/events.

12] – On Sun., Jan. 12 from 2 to 4 PM, OUR Revolution MoCo will meet at the Rockville Library, 21 Maryland Avenue, Rockville 20850. This will be our 2020 Kickoff & Planning meeting. http://ourrevolutionmd.com/local-chapters/montgomery-county/.

13] – On Sun., Jan. 12 from 2 to 4 PM, catch a film screening “5 Awake,” hosted by Moms Demand Action at St. Mark's Episcopal Church- Capitol Hill, 301 A St. SE, WDC 20003.  Join Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, and the DC Area Interfaith Gun Violence Prevention Network, for a free film and discussion series on gun violence at St. Mark's Episcopal Church. A moderated Q&A will follow the film screening. Louisiana has been called one of the most dangerous places in America for women due to domestic violence homicides. But five strong determined Louisiana women have helped change that. The documentary short film “Five Awake” chronicles their championing of a historic legislative package to protect victims of domestic abuse and save lives. Their advocacy resulted in unanimous passage of the most comprehensive package of bills ever aimed at stopping domestic violence. “Five Awake” shows how grass roots efforts by the public can lead to significant and unexpected victories in the Louisiana Legislature. 14] – On Sun., Jan. 12 from 3 to 5 PM, take the Anne Frank Tour at The U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, hosted by Washington DC History & Culture at 100 Raoul Wallenberg Place SW, WDC 20024.  June 12, 2019 would have been Anne Franke's 90th birthday, the most famous victim of the Nazi Holocaust. For this program we’ll be taking a two-hour guided tour of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. Our emphasis will be on the museum’s permanent exhibit, which we’ll be seeing particularly as it relates to the fascinating and tragic story of Anne Frank and her diary.
Anne Frank (June 12, 1929 - February or March 1945) was a German-born diarist. One of the most discussed Jewish victims of the Holocaust, she gained fame posthumously with the publication of The Diary of a Young Girl, in which she documents her life in hiding from 1942 to 1944, during the German occupation of the Netherlands in World War II. It is one of the world's most widely known books and has been the basis for several plays and films. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anne_Frank.   Registration is $10 per person with proceeds supporting the Washington, DC History & Culture non-profit community programs.  Look at https://www.facebook.com/events/545210042999167/.

15] – There is a weekly Pentagon Peace Vigil from 7 to 8 AM on Mondays, since 1987, outside the Pentagon Metro stop.  The next vigil is Jan. 13, and it is sponsored by the Dorothy Day Catholic Worker.  Email artlaffin@hotmail.com or call 202-882-9649.  The vigil will be outside the Pentagon's south Metro entrance and in the designated "protest zone" behind bicycle fences across from the entrance to the Metro.  By Metro, take Yellow Line and get out at the "Pentagon" stop. Do not go to the Pentagon City stop! Go up south escalators and turn left and walk across to protest area. By car from D.C. area, take 395 South and get off at Exit 8A-Pentagon South Parking. Take slight right onto S. Rotary Rd. at end of ramp and right on S. Fern St. Then take left onto Army Navy Dr. You can "pay to park" on Army Navy Dr.,  and there is meter parking one block on right on Eads St. Payment for both of these spots begin at 8 AM.  No cameras are allowed on Pentagon grounds. Restrooms are located inside Marriott Residence Inn on corner of S. Fern and Army Navy Dr.

16] – Urge Congress to Hold Hearings on the ERA, which would be supported by Katrina's Dream.  Each Monday, including Jan. 6, at 8 AM, make calls to Senator Graham at (202) 224-5972 and your senators for the ERA. Hold hearings on S.J. Res 6, and S.J. Res. 5 which calls for the removal of a deadline for passage of the ERA. This will continue through Feb. 10.
