49] – The Affordable Care Act is under attack. Now the Supreme Court will hold three days of hearings on the Affordable Care Act, beginning Mon., Mar. 26. So much is at stake -- and millions of citizens who now have access to life-saving health care are at risk. USAction is teaming up with Health Care for America Now for one last grassroots push while the Supreme Court holds oral arguments. Be at the Supreme Court each day from 8 AM to noon each day to defend the law and deliver public pressure to the insular Supreme Court to do the right thing.
Monday is the day for doctors, nurses, and other health care providers, along with people of faith who will hold a "prayerful witness" in support of the health care law. Tuesday is Don't Deny My Care, Protect the Health Care Law from the right-wing extremists. Wednesday is when there will be a call to Stop the Attacks on Medicare and Medicaid. RSVP at alerts@truemajority.org.

You can call the General Assembly switchboard at 800-492-7122 and ask for the legislator representing where you live. Or, enter your address at http://mdelect.net to find your legislators. If passed, this bill would lead to the construction of a pollution-free wind farm ten miles off the coast of Ocean City, Maryland. It would help stave off climate change, make our air healthier to breathe and create badly needed new jobs for the state.

66] – Protest Stanley McChrystal at the Baltimore Speakers Series on Tues., Mar. 27 at 7 PM at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, 1212 Cathedral St. An alleged war criminal, Gen. Stanley McChrystal for five years was the head of the Joint Special Operations Command, a highly secretive force within the U.S. military which carries out covert operations--ranging from combat missions to assassinations. JSOC grew in size and scope under McChrystal, and now Adm. William H. McRaven is pushing for even greater autonomy for special operations and for a vast increase in operations in Asia, Africa and Latin America.
McChrystal was fired in 2010 as the top commander of U.S./NATO forces in Afghanistan but his murderous
policies in Afghanistan have continued. Immediately after he was fired, he was hired as a Senior Fellow at Yale University to teach a seminar in leadership and globalization. At Yale, students and community members protested his teaching position because of his horrific role promoting terrorist warfare in the Middle East.
McChrystal signed a contract with a Washington-based agency to set up speaking engagements around the country, where he reportedly earns up to $60,000 per engagement. He has the blood of thousands of Iraqis and Afghans on his hands, and should be prosecuted. The demonstration was initiated by the ANSWER Coalition.
