31] – The Vietnam Peace Commemoration Committee [vnpeacecomm-gmail.com@shared1.ccsend.com] is hosting a webinar on Tues., July 23 at 7 PM ET -- The Indochina Mobile Education Project.  RSVP at https://vnpeacecomm.blogspot.com/2024/07/grass-roots-education-by-imep.html

The Indochina Mobile Education Project (IMEP) played a key role in educating people in communities throughout America about war damages and the human impacts of the U.S. military intervention in Vietnam and Laos. From the fall of 1971 through 1976 following the end of the war, IMEP toured the country with large photo exhibits, films, slide shows and educational materials designed to help citizens understand the toll of the war. Two people who had experienced the war as soldiers, humanitarian agency volunteers or journalists traveled with each exhibit visiting hundreds of communities in every state, making thousands of presentations to churches and synagogues, civic organizations, schools and fraternal groups like Lions and Kiwanis Clubs.  This webinar will feature people who traveled the country as IMEP organizers and tour speakers as well as local exhibit hosts in Colorado, Missouri and Massachusetts.

40] – From accredited Japanese director Hideaki Ito comes SILENT FALLOUT which tells the untold stories of the victims of nuclear testing in America. The documentary will be shown at Towson University on July 27 at 1 PM ET in Towson University’s Center for the Arts Building, Room CA-2032, 8000 York Road, Towson. The inspiring film tells the hidden history of the remarkable Mid-West women who fact-checked government assertions that the U.S. bomb tests in Nevada were not harming the general public. The ingenious collection and testing of children’s deciduous teeth led to published findings that spurred JFK and Khrushchev to sign the first nuclear treaty, the Limited Test Ban Treaty, in 1963. The screening is co-sponsored by the Asian Arts and Culture Center, the Baltimore - Kawasaki Sister City Committee and Towson University’s College of Fine Arts and Communication.  Visit us.fallout22.com/tour/
