6] – Another book to consider purchasing is Male Supremacy in the Catholic Church: An Insider’s View by Roy Bourgeois. His new book is both memoir and position-paper, and it makes the case that the Roman Catholic Church is a corrupt system that spits out truth-tellers. The crime he was excommunicated for was attending the ordination ceremony of Janice Sevre-Duszynska in Lexington, Kentucky, in August 2008. The ordination was under the auspices of the Association of Roman Catholic Women Priests.  The Vatican’s response has been to excommunicate any woman who has the audacity to see herself as a priest equal to a male priest. You can purchase a copy from Amazon or by Kindle.

Here are two quotes to contemplate: “I permit no woman to teach or to have authority over men. She is to keep silent.” – Timothy 1, 2:12-13.  “If the patriarchy that dominates the church is not dismantled and women are not treated as equals, the church will continue to diminish and, eventually, die.” – Roy Bourgeois.

7] – Alan Barysh  [] hopes that you will purchase his audio book -- Shipyard Days and Nights and Other Baltimore Stories (Mostly true).  It's on Should this book hit the big time, Mr. Barysh says he will donate money to the Shipyard Retirees Association.

8] – Usually, the Baltimore Ethical Society, 2521 St. Paul St., Baltimore 21218, meets on Sundays, and usually there is a platform address at 10:30 AM ET.  On Nov. 19, the theme is “Restorative Justice Circles.”  Restorative Justice Circles can be used for community building as well as conflict resolution. Today practice in one or more virtual groups, with a focus on inclusion in Ethical Culture. Come and experience this addition to the “toolbox for ethical living.” Visit

9] – American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) [] is organizing a CEASEFIRE NOW: CHILDREN'S MARCH at Franklin Park, 1332 I St. NW, WDC 20005 on Nov. 19 in 11 AM ET. At least 5,000 Palestinian children have been murdered by Israel. ‌1,755 children have been reported missing and are presumed dead under the rubble of destroyed buildings.  Join the march to the White House to recognize the children's lives that have been taken in Gaza over the last six weeks and continue the demand for a ceasefire and end to Israel’s war crimes. This march will be family-friendly; parents are encouraged to bring their children.  You are encouraged to make your signs beforehand and carry pictures of the children who have been murdered in the last month and/or over the years.   Visit

13] – Alan Minsky for Progressive Democrats of America [] wants you to attend a Town Hall on Sun., Nov. 19 at 4 PM ET about the Israel/Gaza Crisis with two Palestinian American Progressive Democrats: Rep. Rashida Tlaib and Wesam Shahed. This Sunday's Town Hall will build upon a very special event hosted by PDA Arizona on Friday, a talk by Rep. Rashida Tlaib entitled "Palestine is an American Issue." Rashida Tlaib is, of course, one of the original members of the Squad, one of the most progressive members of Congress, where she represents a district in Metro Detroit, and a friend of PDA. Rashida is the only Palestinian American in Congress.

In this moment, one of the darkest in recent history, Rashida Tlaib is a beacon of hope for millions of people. Fully committed to peace and the human rights, security, and self-determination of all people—and never failing to prioritize the sanctity of every human life—Rashida could not contrast more with the established leadership of Gaza, the West Bank, and Israel.  Alan Minsky, PDA's Executive Director, will also be at the event in Arizona, offering some opening remarks and introducing Rashida. After Friday's event, Alan will choose clips from Rashida's speech to play on Sunday's Town Hall. So, Sunday's attendees will be among the first to hear Rashida's words.

Also appearing is Wesam Shahed to provide his thoughts on the Israel/Gaza crisis, its impact on Arab American communities, and their relationship with the Democratic Party.  He is a first-generation Palestinian American from Chicago, who serves as an policy advisor—Assistant State’s Attorney at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office (CCSAO), the second-largest prosecutor’s office in the U.S. Wesam has not only been recognized as one of the most promising young talents in the CCSAO, but he has also been internationally recognized in the Arab American Foundation’s “30 Under 30.” RSVP at
