18] –  Mobilizing an Earth Governance Alliance (MEGA) [info@earthgovernance.org] is inviting you to a webinar on Mon., Aug. 12 at 11 AM ET --  Common Security, the Nuclear Threat and the Climate-Nuclear Nexus. States Parties to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty met at the UN in Geneva from July 22-August 2 for the 2024 NPT Prep Com. Proposals were made for the UN Summit of the Future which takes place from Sep 22-23 at the UN in New York. 19] – Knock on doors in Baltimore City and join the canvass, hosted by MD Victory.  Gather at the Baltimore Office, 2330 N. Howard St., Baltimore 21211. Knock on doors to elect Angela Alsobrooks to be the next United States Senator and Kweisi Mfume to be re-elected as the Congressperson from Maryland's 7th! First time volunteering? No worries. Each canvass shift starts with a training with an organizer who will be there to help you out. You will go out with a buddy so you can knock on doors together. 20] – Letter-Writing with Swing Left will happen in person in Catonsville on Mon., Aug. 12 from 7 to 8:30 PM ET.  This will continue on Mondays through October 14. 21] – Join Take Action Tuesdays organized by People Power United on Tuesdays from noon to 1 PM ET.  Use your lunch hour to take action on issues, text bank, do letters and postcards to voters, and more! No supplies needed. You will be trained. People Power United is a group of community members that champions progressive values and power for the people. The 2024 election depends on us, and we are attempting to persuade people to vote for Freedom over Fascism. 22] – Join the Baltimore Nonviolence Center on Tues., Aug. 12 from 5 to 5:30 PM ET at 33rd and N. Charles Sts. The invasion of Ukraine has the potential to become a war extending throughout Europe.  Putin has destroyed Aleppo and Grozny and has threatened the use of nuclear weapons.  Russian soldiers were sent into the area around the contaminated and still radioactive Chernobyl nuclear plant. Now they are stationed in the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, the largest in Europe.   Contact Max at mobuszewski2001 at Comcast dot net or 410-323-1607.
