42] – Rev. Adam Russell Taylor, Sojourners [sojoaction@sojo.net] on Wed., Feb. 18 at noon hopes you will join a public vigil in Lafayette Park on Ash Wednesday. This is a Call to Christians in a Crisis of Faith and Democracy. In a moment when cruelty is being normalized, and the name of Jesus is being used to bless domination, we’re choosing a different witness—prayerful, truthful, and courageous. Register at  https://act.sojo.net/page/94227/survey/1?utm_medium=email&utm_source=engagingnetworksSJN&utm_campaign=sojoaction&utm_content=FY26.02.11+Coalition+Event+-+A+Call+to+Action+-+Vigil+on+the+Hill+0348145019

43] – James Zogby [jzogby@aaiusa.org] on Wed., Feb. 18 from 2 to 2:30 PM is inviting you to a Coffee and a Column. He discussed the continued need to provide Palestinians a voice in their own affairs and the damage caused by the international community by ignoring Palestinian Human rights. In his column, he argues Ignoring Palestinian Rights won't bring peace -- https://www.aaiusa.org/library/ignoring-palestinian-rights-wont-bring-peace?emci=f7943a1e-250c-f111-832e-0022482a9733&emdi=6af7b181-2a0c-f111-832e-0022482a9733&ceid=389907 Register here to receive the information for the Zoom call: https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/P6UhDUzZTL-2wRePwIlLOA?emci=f7943a1e-250c-f111-832e-0022482a9733&emdi=6af7b181-2a0c-f111-832e-0022482a9733&ceid=389907#/

44] – MPower Action [info@mpowerchange.org] on Wed., Feb. 18 at 3 PM will join with Jewish Voice for Peace to prompt calls to demand the release of Leqaa Kordia. Leqaa, a 33-year-old Palestinian woman being unlawfully held in ICE detention for nearly a year, needs us to raise our voices and let our Members of Congress know that she should be free.

Leqaa was an active participant in demonstrations against the ongoing genocide in Gaza, and like many others, is a victim of Trump’s crackdown on immigrants. Israel has killed more than 200 members of Leqaa’s family in Gaza since the genocide began. Leqaa is being held in the Prairieland Detention Facility in Texas, notorious for human rights violations, and 1,500 miles from her family. She was recently hospitalized for a seizure, and it's believed that she is in poor health and in need of urgent care. It is imperative that we all do more to secure her release. Thirty-four Texas lawmakers sent a letter to Homeland Security calling for her release. Now, we need Members of Congress to take action. Talk with Food & Water Watch’s campaign leaders about the top priority fights for 2026 and how to push forward in our work to fight environmental destruction and corporate greed.  RSVP at https://www.mobilize.us/fww/event/875825/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=engagingnetworks&utm_campaign=onor_em_02172026_NAT-fww-FEB-LFL&utm_content=2026-02-17_FWW_c3_NAT_General_February-LFL-Email-2_Event_em_nL_C_EPI

48] – Chesapeake Indivisible facilitator Kari writes that you can write postcards together, enjoy each other's company, and sometimes make signs or do other activities. Recent postcards targeted voters in key districts of Georgia, and cards aimed at registering potential Democrats in Pennsylvania. On Thurs., Feb. 19, and generally alternate Thursdays, from 1 to 3 PM writ postcards. Email Kari to RSVP and get location: KABChesapeakeindivisible@proton.me

50] –What’s the Plan? A virtual Weekly Discussion with Indivisible’s co-founders takes place on Thursdays, including Feb. 19, from 3 to 4 PM ET. The onslaught of news, the chaos coming out of the White House – it’s all meant to overwhelm us. It’s a deliberate strategy to sow confusion and make us believe we are powerless to fight back. The antidote: Coming together in community to process what’s happening, to sift through what’s important and what’s just noise, and coalesce around strategies for fighting back. Join Indivisible co-founders Leah Greenberg and Ezra Levin each week to discuss what’s happening and – more importantly – what the plan is. The event will continue through Dec. 17, 2026. RSVP at https://www.mobilize.us/indivisible/event/874938/?utm_source=email&utm_medium=_20251215

51] --  On Thurs., Feb. 19 from 5 to 6 PM Indivisible Olney will stand up for Democracy at Georgia Avenue & Maryland 108, Olney 20832.  Park in the Walgreen's parking lot and follow the sound of the music! RSVP at https://www.mobilize.us/dfadcoalition/event/878084/?followup_modal_context=organization_newsletter_custom_recommendations

Stand with your neighbors for democracy, for justice, and for an economy that works for all of us, not just billionaires. Stand for science, the rule of law, a working government, kindness and common decency. It's going to be dark and cold at 5:00, so dress warmly and maybe bring a book light to illuminate your protest sign. The event will be cancelled if the temperatures are below freezing, or when it rains, sleets, or snows. This event will continue through March 26.

To be continued
