22] -- Join the Baltimore Nonviolence Center on Tues., July 25 from 4:30 to 5 PM ET at 33rd and N. Charles Sts. The invasion of Ukraine has the potential to become a war extending throughout Europe.  Putin has destroyed Aleppo and Grozny and has threatened the use of nuclear weapons.  Russian soldiers were sent into the area around the contaminated and still radioactive Chernobyl nuclear plant. Now they are stationed in the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, the largest in Europe.   People who believe in peace and justice should come forward and take the risks of peace. The burial sites continue to expose ruthless war crimes by the invaders, Contact Max at mobuszewski2001 at Comcast dot net or 410-323-1607.

23] – On Tues., July 25 and Thurs., July 27 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM ET, join the Ohio Democratic Party Vote NO Campaign and its virtual phone bank and training.  Get with other pro-democracy callers on phone banks run by the Ohio Democratic Party to help ensure that the 60% threshold to pass a citizen-led constitutional amendment never, ever becomes Ohio law. Use a dialer to make calls! Call as many voters throughout Ohio as humanly possible to turn them out to vote. Calling voters is a fantastic way to play a vital role in our turnout efforts!  At the outset of a phone bank, you will be trained on how to make phone calls using a dialer! After you attend a training and the phone bank afterwards, you'll be equipped to make calls anytime that works for your schedule in the future. RSVP at https://www.mobilize.us/mobilize/event/563286/?followup_modal_context=nonexclusive_newsletter_most_popular_virtual.

24] – On Tues., July 25 from 6 to 8 PM ET, the Working Families Party is hosting a virtual Text Party for progressives. Sign up at https://www.mobilize.us/mobilize/event/545747/?followup_modal_context=nonexclusive_newsletter_most_popular_virtual. The next Text Party will be Aug. 29 from 6 to 8 PM ET.

Learn the skills to communicate with policymakers in a way that effectively influences their decision-making process. The main goal is for advocates to possess the necessary tools to establish effective relationships with elected officials, hold them accountable to our communities, and plan to engage with them regularly on priority issues. You will be provided with a guide on how to set up your own meetings, template agendas, and best practices during a meeting with an elected official. Register at https://detentionwatchnetwork.app.neoncrm.com/np/clients/detentionwatchnetwork/event.jsp?event=235.

For more than 50 years, Greenpeace has exercised its right to peacefully protest and expose environmental harm — even when that means exposing powerful people and companies.

Over the last decade, the fossil fuel industry has targeted more than 150 people and organizations with expensive lawsuits meant to silence and bankrupt their critics. As you may know, Greenpeace USA is one of those targets, and the group is fighting back.  But next summer, Greenpeace USA is going to trial on a $300 million lawsuit that threatens its existence. As I discussed with volunteers this week, our goal can’t just be to win this lawsuit — we must stop this corporate bullying for good.

To be continued.
