32] –   The Indivisible Project wants you to join the virtual ICE OUT for Good Indivisible Phone Bank on Tues., Feb. 3 from 3 to 5 PM ET. Masked federal agents are terrorizing our communities. They’re teargassing babies, kidnapping our neighbors, shooting clergy in the face with chemical projectiles, and killing innocent people. But right now, there is an opportunity to rein in ICE at the federal level. ICE and Border Patrol are part of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). DHS funding expires at midnight on Friday, Jan. 30. Congress is currently negotiating how to fund DHS moving forward. Democrats met the first demand that DHS cannot be funded business as usual.  Call voters in key states and encourage them to call their Republican senators to demand that they rein in ICE’s terror tactics.  RSVP at https://www.mobilize.us/indivisible/event/894386/?utm_source=email&utm_medium=_20260202

The 2026 Maryland General Assembly legislative session has begun! This week, dozens of advocates rallied at the State House in Annapolis for the Affordable Solar Act with climate champion Delegate Lorig Charkoudian (District 20) to reinforce the urgency of clean solar energy here in Maryland.  And that was only the start of our campaign for affordable clean energy statewide! Our elected officials in the General Assembly need to hear from their constituents across the state. Our collective action is critical – even if going to Annapolis in person isn’t accessible for you. Take action — from the comfort of home — by joining one of the virtual phone banks or postcard-writing parties!

The next Tuesday evening phone bank is on Feb. 10 from 6 to 8 PM.  The phone banks will continue through April 7. The next Thursday phone bank will take place on Feb. 19 from noon to 2 PM. and it will continue through April 2. The next post card huddle will be on Mon., Feb. 23 from 7 to 8 PM. The next one will be Mon., Feb. 23 from 7 to 8 PM, followed by another on March 9. The postcards AND the stamps will be mailed to you— all you need to do is show up and write to your legislators.

The event will feature Blair Unida, a local organization raising funds for legal aid for impacted families of students at Blair Montgomery High School. The program will include singing, prayers by clergy from multiple faith traditions, and briefings from community organizers working directly on this issue. After the event, all who can brave the cold are invited to walk to city council together where a discussion about our city’s response to ICE is ongoing.
