] – On Thurs., Feb. 26 from 3 to 4:30 PM, join an Overpass Extravaganza at Ridgley Ave. Overpass, 599 Ridgely Ave., Annapolis 21401, hosted by Chesapeake Indivisible. Help hoist a huge message on the Ridgley Avenue Route 50 overpass to reach about 40K commuters headed eastbound on Route 50 in Annapolis, and wave signs for drivers traversing Ridgley Avenue. Contact Nora Terres at noratprotests@gmail.com. This will continue each Thursday in March, and end on March 26. RSVP at https://www.mobilize.us/mobilize/event/895486/

] –What’s the Plan? A virtual Weekly Discussion with Indivisible’s co-founders takes place on Thursdays, including Feb. 26, from 3 to 4 PM ET. The onslaught of news, the chaos coming out of the White House – it’s all meant to overwhelm us. It’s a deliberate strategy to sow confusion and make us believe we are powerless to fight back. The antidote: Coming together in community to process what’s happening, to sift through what’s important and what’s just noise, and coalesce around strategies for fighting back. Join Indivisible co-founders Leah Greenberg and Ezra Levin each week to discuss what’s happening and – more importantly – what the plan is. The event will continue through Dec. 17, 2026. RSVP at https://www.mobilize.us/indivisible/event/874938/?utm_source=email&utm_medium=_20251215

] –Stop the Money Pipeline [info@stopthemoneypipeline.com] on Thurs., Feb.  26 at 5 PM ET wants you to join a Campaign Update Call for the fight to end fossil fuels. A new report reveals large companies can select climate-aligned partners.  There are better options when it comes to the climate for large companies and nonprofits looking for a financial institution as a partner. The Better Options report is going to change the game for the fight to end fossil fuel funding. Large retailers, like Costco and L.L. Bean, can now see there are credit card options that can both issue millions of credit cards and have not provided billions of dollars to the fossil fuel industry.  Learn how you can build power to end fossil fuel expansion.  RSVP at https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/7_k-5e7KRPedvMgvDyTB3A?link_id=0&can_id=4b9d4061aec5469758759317ac0f5285&source=email-campaign-update-this-changes-the-game-for-the-fight-to-end-fossil-fuels-2&email_referrer=email_3114162&email_subject=campaign-update-call-thursday-this-changes-the-game-for-the-fight-to-end-fossil-fuels&&#/registration.

Stand with your neighbors for democracy, for justice, and for an economy that works for all of us, not just billionaires. Stand for science, the rule of law, a working government, kindness and common decency. It's going to be dark and cold at 5:00, so dress warmly and maybe bring a book light to illuminate your protest sign. The event will be cancelled if the temperatures are below freezing, or when it rains, sleets, or snows. This event will continue through March 26.

] – The GW Institute for Korean Studies [gwiks@gwu.edu] on Fri., Feb. 27 from 10 AM to 3 PM will host a Signature Conference: Cold War Economies in the Two Koreas at the Elliott School of International Affairs, Lindner Family Commons, Room 602, 1957 E St. NW, WDC. The Cold War divided the Korean peninsula and pushed North and South Korea on to two very different but sometimes strangely similar developmental trajectories. In this conference, you will look at different aspects of the North and South Korean economies during the Cold War. Examine how the Korean War impacted both Korean states economically and how each state tried to modernize and develop in the aftermath of the war. This conference will also pay attention to how outside powers such as the United States and China shaped economic development in the two Koreas. Ultimately, this conference seeks to understand how the Cold War economic transformations of North and South Korea left an indelible imprint on the peninsula, the East Asian region, and the world.

] – Mike Huntington [info+one-payer-states-info@email.actionnetwork.org] on Fri., Feb. 27 at 12:30 PM hopes you will attend a Physicians for a National Health Program webinar on Medicaid deprivatization. Hear from Dr. Rachel Madley, Center for Health and Democracy.  Our healthcare system is failing us. It’s bound up in structural racism that is literally killing people of color, and it’s more focused on delivering profits to Wall Street investors than on providing patients quality, life-saving healthcare. Join another discussion in a series of explorations into how our healthcare system got to this point, and what we can do to transform it into one that meets the needs of poor people and communities of color.
