The Buddhist monks who have been walking from Ft. Worth, TX (120 days, 2,300 miles) will reach Washington, DC, their final destination. A public welcome will be held from 1 to 1:30 PM outside the National Cathedral, 3101 Wisconsin Avenue NW. A private prayer service will be held inside the Cathedral from 1:30 to 2:30 PM, which should be livestreamed on YouTube.
Pax Christi USA staff will be present at the outside welcome ceremony with a banner; all are welcome to join in. The monks are anticipated to leave the Cathedral around 3 PM and will walk down Massachusetts Avenue via Wisconsin Avenue.

Hear from Alfreda Daniels Juasemai, executive campaigns manager with the Minneapolis Regional Labor Federation, who lives and works in the northwest suburbs of the Twin Cities, where she engages community and union members around different issues ranging from employment, immigration, and education to transportation. Alfreda is originally from Liberia, West Africa. She migrated to the US in 2006 as a refugee after living in Ghana for 6 years. She attended St. Cloud State University, where she studied Political Science, International Relations, and Human Relations. Alfreda is one of the co-founders of the Black Immigrant Collective, a nonprofit organization focused on elevating the stories and voices of Black immigrants in MN. This will continue through Nov. 13, 2029.
