The postcards AND the stamps will be mailed to you— all you need to do is show up and write to your legislators.

29] – Grassroots Action Team (via Common Cause) [causenet@commoncause.org] on Tues., Feb. 24 from 6 to 8 PM and Thurs., Feb. 26 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM ET wants you to join a weekly phone bank to key swing senators as Congress negotiates ICE and DHS’s demand for $10 billion.  Mobilize voters to take action against dangerous legislation in state houses and Congress. Focus on the most urgent campaigns that need help. Some of these campaigns may include stopping bills that will make it harder for millions of Americans—especially students, seniors, and veterans—to cast their ballots. At the meeting, there will be an introduction of Campaign 101. The idea is to catch locals up to speed on why the investor-owned utility model is deleterious for the people of DC. Attendees will receive an overview of the investor-owned utility model, the state of electrical utility increases, and updates on the status of We Power DC’s campaign for municipalization, plus information on how to join the front against Pepco and rising utility rates. The Electoral Committee meets on the fourth Thursday of every month and leads Shore Progress’s work to identify, support, and elect progressive candidates across Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Committee members help shape the endorsement process, recruit strong candidates, and build the field strategies that win elections.

 Whether you’re interested in campaign work, endorsements, voter outreach, or strengthening progressive power on the Shore, this is where the work happens. The first event spotlights Karen State, where armed conflict and scam center networks have created a severe humanitarian crisis. The panel will examine how civilians in Karen State are being relentlessly displaced and brutalized as war crimes and organized crime collide along the Thai‑Burma border.
