34] – Jewish Voice for Peace is doing a Power Half-Hour for Gaza: Channel grief & outrage into action to stop a genocide.  A year into the genocide in Gaza, we are overwhelmed with sorrow and rage. There are no words to describe the devastating pain of the past year in which the Israeli military has killed over 58,000 Palestinians in Gaza, including more than 17,000 children. The International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court have both declared that Israel must stop the genocidal acts being committed on the Palestinian people. And the U.S. government is actively supporting the Israeli military as it wreaks devastation on the over 2 million Palestinians in Gaza. JVP continues to come together as a political community in its daily half-hour to take action. Join in and take collective action to demand an arms embargo to Israel, immediate end to the genocide, a lasting ceasefire and an end to Israeli siege, apartheid, occupation, and oppression of Palestinians and Lebanon. All are welcome. All are needed. Get involved at 3 PM ET on Wed., July 30, Thurs., July 31, Mon., Aug. 4 & Tues., Aug. 5. On this mission, participants interviewed working class leaders across the Philippines to get a full picture of the fascistic attacks on political and human rights in the lead up to the elections; documenting hundreds of abuses by the Filipino government; and showing that, contrary to the reports of mainstream media, these elections were neither free nor fair. Such abuses included vote buying, vote machine tampering, threats, and even extrajudicial kidnapping.  Come learn from Hayden Long (MDC DSA), Gordon Mutch (ICHRP) and moderator Hudson Cole (MDC DSA) about their experiences, the conditions of the Philippines, and learn about getting involved in the Filipino people’s struggle for liberation at this seminar.

This hybrid event is open to both DSA members and supporters. Those who wish to attend virtually will be provided a Zoom registration link upon RSPVing, under "Instructions from Your Host." Her presence within CODEPINK over the years helped deepen an understanding of what it means to take action from a place of love, not fear. She joined in protest, in reflection, and in building the kind of world where all life is honored. ‌ ‌‌RSVP at https://www.codepink.org/lpe0730?utm_campaign=july_30th_lpe_gathering&utm_medium=email&utm_source=codepink‌ ‌
