18] – World BEYOND War <greta@worldbeyondwar.org> is calling for a Global Day of Action to #CloseBases on Mon., July 14. On the 14th, the group will release a new global report about the devastating impact of military bases worldwide. Join in on Zoom to take coordinated online action together to amplify the Close Bases message through social media and writing letters to the editor. You will be provided with templates and assistance in real time. You will also hear updates from leaders of anti-bases movements around the world, such as activists in California protesting the flow of weapons from Travis Air Force Base to Israel.  You can join in at 10 AM ET or 8 PM ET. Register at https://worldbeyondwar.org/july14/?link_id=6&can_id=c5bc27803f0bca8c09cd469febd93808&source=email-july-14-day-of-action-to-closebases-3&email_referrer=email_2808434&email_subject=next-week-july-14-day-of-action-to-closebases

19] – On Mon., July 14 from 1 to 2 PM, the National Democratic Training Committee will hold a virtual training Running an Effective Canvass Operation. This training is right for you if you intend to plan or manage a door-to-door canvass on behalf of a candidate or cause. Get the following: define canvassing and its use on political campaigns, review the components of effective canvassing scripts and learn best practices for setting up a strong volunteer canvassing operation. RSVP at https://www.mobilize.us/mobilize/event/798600/

20] – Jewish Voice for Peace is doing a Power Half-Hour for Gaza: Channel grief & outrage into action to stop a genocide.  A year into the genocide in Gaza, we are overwhelmed with sorrow and rage. There are no words to describe the devastating pain of the past year in which the Israeli military has killed over 44,000 Palestinians in Gaza, including more than 17,000 children. The International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court have both declared that Israel must stop the genocidal acts being committed on the Palestinian people. And the U.S. government is actively supporting the Israeli military as it wreaks devastation on the over 2 million Palestinians in Gaza. JVP continues to come together as a political community in its daily half-hour to take action. Join in and take collective action to demand an arms embargo to Israel, immediate end to the genocide, a lasting ceasefire and an end to Israeli siege, apartheid, occupation, and oppression of Palestinians and Lebanon. All are welcome. All are needed. Get involved at 3 PM ET on Mon., July 14, Tues., July 15, Wed., July 16 & Thurs., July 17. The Trump Administration is cutting back many of this country's vital services, while at the same time ramping up ICE enforcement. They aim to spend $48 billion dollars to expand immigration detention, while firing federal workers, cutting vital community services and eliminating the Department of Education. We don’t want to live in their police state. We don't want a system that terrorizes and kidnaps our immigrant brothers and sisters, while it cuts and eliminates our vital education, nutrition and healthcare services!
