55] – The National Audubon Society Invites you to Bird Migration Through Different Lenses/a Bilingual Webinar on World Migratory Bird Day & Latinx Heritage Month on Thurs., Oct. 8 at noon ET.  This will focus on migratory bird conservation across the Western Hemisphere. Learn how on-the-ground efforts are giving a voice to the birds; and how the birds in turn can give a voice to local communities. Tune in at 2ffev4YBe4Jrwlwl1BXDa4fhjewJP1RK0c4IrQS%2f9sp9bXb1%2fiI%2fASD4JFi6VZizQd3P.

56] – Private settler organizations like Regavim and Elad have long been operating in cahoots with right-wing politicians to evict Palestinians living in East Jerusalem and the West Bank and even demolish their homes to make way for Jewish settlements.  While Netanyahu and members of his government have made foreign funding of left-wing organizations a major focus of government and media scrutiny, less attention has been paid to who is funding these right-wing settler groups. But an investigation by BBC News Arabic has found that Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich controls companies that have donated $100 million to Elad. You may have heard about Elad’s efforts to evict their neighbors, the Sumarin family, from the home they’ve lived in for 50+ years or their deeply controversial City of David archaeological site that runs underneath Palestinian homes in East Jerusalem.

On Thurs., Oct. 8 at 1 PM, join the Progressive Israel Network -- a coalition of 10 American organizations -- for a special screening of a new documentary based on this investigation and a post-film discussion with investigative journalist Uri Blau and BBC News Arabic Senior Producer Rosie Garthwaite. REGISTER https://secure.nif.org/MqjQXQrDFk-lHF_bhJrr9A2?ms=jst. Registrants will receive a link to watch the documentary and then will receive an invitation to join the post-film discussion.

57] – October 8, 2020 marks four years since the Saudi-led coalition dropped a US-made bomb on a funeral ceremony in Sana'a, Yemen, killing over 140 people and wounding over 500 more. Americans, Brits, Canadians, French, Italians and Yemenis are coming together on online to say NO TO WAR ON YEMEN at 1:30 PM ET on Thurs., Oct. 8 for a discussion facilitated by the Yemeni Alliance Committee and organized by Action Corps and allies.  Register at tinyurl.com/y5ksljkn. The bombing and blockading of Yemen continues enjoying US support under President Trump's leadership -- in violation of the will of both bodies of Congress.

58] – Faith leaders are key right now to preventing, mitigating and responding to the increased risk of election-related violence. Together, we can build resilient communities. 2020 is the most dangerous election cycle we’ve ever seen, set against the backdrop of an already tumultuous year. In the face of challenges and threats, faith leaders can take decisive steps to build peace. Join Faith in Public Life and Over Zero on Thurs., Oct. 8 from 4:30 to 6 PM ET for a training webinar on how to build a resiliency network in your community, create a crisis monitoring and response plan, and take action right now. Trump is going to attempt to ram through yet another conservative extremist onto the Supreme Court.  Fight like hell to take back the Senate and the White House in November. Phone banking is one of the most effective tools we have to connect with voters.  Call voters in key states! You just need your phone, a laptop and a friend (or three). Get with a quick training and then all make calls "together." 63] – Join Food & Water Action and its coalition partners on Thurs., Oct. 8 at 7 PM for a panel discussion of the Frontline PBS documentary COVID's Hidden Toll.  Essential workers in agricultural industries are highly vulnerable to COVID-19. They are typically forced to work in close quarters and may not be provided with personal protective gear. Most agricultural and meat processing workers lack basic employment benefits, such as health insurance, sick leave, and unemployment insurance.

The action will implore Mayor Young to stop his shady negotiations with BRESCO about the trash incinerator,  RSVP at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfN-Wd1iBxKQqZNq40pA2iBO6dfAo5l5ChA2Fe9Lr4H8jDKCw/viewform?link_id=2&can_id=4b9d4061aec5469758759317ac0f5285&source=email-tuesdays-hub-meeting-post-election-plans-wide-awake-action-and-more&email_referrer=email_945983&email_subject=tuesdays-hub-meeting-post-election-plans-wide-awake-action-and-more.

65] –Join Workers World Party for a conversation on Thurs., Oct. 8 at 8 PM ET in response to the first Presidential & Vice Presidential Debates, with leading comrade Larry Holmes and Teresa Gutierrez.  As the 2020 U.S. election crisis deepens, the question of what is needed for the working class and oppressed people to survive COVID capitalism continues to be ignored.  During the first Presidential debate, the constant bickering and interrupting hid the fact that neither campaign made proposals to address the multitude of crises facing working and oppressed people in the U.S. – from COVID-19, unemployment, housing and healthcare to racism, police brutality, migrant deportations, environmental catastrophe to imperialist war.  Discuss a revolutionary socialist way out of the multitude of crises we face today.  Register for the Webinar at tinyurl.com/wwpdebate.  Share on Facebook at bit.ly/wwpdebatefb.

66] – Throughout American history, when a president has lost re-election, they have always stepped down willingly. But today, Trump routinely ignores democratic norms and continues to chip away at democratic institutions. Join the coalition of voters ready to mobilize if Donald Trump refuses to accept the results of the 2020 presidential election. On Thurs., Oct 8 at 8 PM ET, join a webinar and share the most up-to-date information about the Protect the Results campaign. Come learn what will trigger our collective action and what steps you need to take to be ready to Protect the Results when the coalition activates the mobilizations.
