6] – There is an Active Bystander Intervention and Nonviolent Communications Application on Sun., Oct. 18.  This ONLINE training will be offered from noon to 3 PM EDT. REGISTER at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf86jc4f8pPHK0lgkQbkWN0tqcrmJ9zA5wyAyIAenT5Pm4hYQ/viewform. The Active Bystander Intervention Training is sponsored by the DC Peace Team: www.dcpeaceteam.com. You will get the Zoom link after you complete registration. Contact LeeAnn King @ MaryLeeAnnKing@gmail.com if you don't get it. An active bystander training teaches effective skills for assessing, de-escalating, and diffusing a problematic situation, such as intimidation, harassment, abuse, physical violence, etc. Nonviolent Communication (NVC), developed by Marshall Rosenberg, is a powerful tool for transforming and mediating interpersonal, intra-personal, organizational, and inter-group conflicts. It is used worldwide by activists, teachers, conflict specialists, doctors, diplomats, social workers, managers and others to improve their work and home life. The practice of NVC can help us understand ourselves more fully, provide us with a sense of power and choice in our lives, and open our hearts to compassionately connect and collaborate with others. This is an interactive, participatory, workshop designed for anyone, no prior studies of bystander intervention and NVC is necessary to participate.

Payment is requested on a sliding scale. Please consider $40-$80 to support the work and help better serve the community. FREE for students. 9] – Join a Healthcare Emergency Virtual Town Hall on Sun., Oct. 18 at 4 PM ET. RSVP and receive the secure codes: mikefox@pdamerica.org. There's never been a more dramatic need for comprehensive healthcare reform in this country. Join Dr. Bill and his special guests Julie Oliver (candidate for Congress in TX-25) and Cathy Kunkel (running in WV-02) and get updates on the pandemic and campaigns you can join to help make America healthier. The world is up another 2,200,000 known cases of the novel coronavirus #COVID19 to over 37 million now. And despite his having been able to easily prevent himself from becoming a victim of the disease by following some normal public health non-pharmacological measures, Trump contracted COVID19, then praised God and the best drugs known to humankind for his complete recovery.

At the same time, news outlets are reporting significant surges in cases that have Emergency Room physicians stating concerns of the apparent arrival of the pandemic's dreaded second wave here in the US. And, contrary to what the Fox News messaging machine might say, this is not fear mongering, precisely because this is not trivial or insignificant. That’s why it’s past time we shift this paradigm, first by voting out this cruel and inhuman bunch of Trumpublicans, and then by pushing for what we all know that we need now more than ever, #MedicareForAll and the #GreenNewDeal.

11] –    Our Revolution MD on Sun., Oct. 18 from 5:30 to 7 PM will host a virtual forum with two of Bernie's most trusted advisors - 2020 National Co-Chair Senator Nina Turner and journalist David Sirota. These dynamic leaders will discuss what is at stake if Barrett is confirmed.  They will also review what Senate Democrats must do to delay and to obstruct the confirmation process including ways for us to pressure Senators to do everything in their power to hold the seat! Register now for this must-see forum at https://www.mobilize.us/ourrevolution/event/348455/?link_id=3&can_id=4b9d4061aec5469758759317ac0f5285&source=email-our-revolution-marylands-no-confirmation-before-inauguration-forum&email_referrer=email_955611&email_subject=two-great-actions-to-honor-rbg-this-weekend.
