26] – The PM Healthcare Task Force [info@progressivemaryland.org] is offering you a chance to be part of a direct action. On Wed., Oct. 11 at 10 AM join a National Day of Action: Now is the time to tell health insurers in Maryland and across the country to stop denying and delaying health care! This event is in the Randallstown/Owings Mills area. Gather at meet up spot from 10:15 to 10:35 AM and get signs, instructions from organizers & event overview. Walk to insurer's office at 10:45 AM.  Tell why the group is here, share stories, and finally tell what is wanted.

As you know all too well, the private health insurance industry in this country is NOT focused on providing affordable, timely care. In fact, health insurers across the board routinely refuse care and reimbursements through claim and pre-authorization denials. This terrible practice leaves too many struggling with illness, high medical bills, and debt.  Sign up at https://www.mobilize.us/progressivemaryland/event/581728/?emci=08710df5-d35e-ee11-9937-00224832eb73&emdi=c4a4fc4d-da5e-ee11-9937-00224832eb73&ceid=136680  Once you've signed up, you'll receive more details about the event, including the target and meeting location closer to the date.

27] – The Maryland Poor People's Campaign (MD PPC) [events@mdpoorpeoplescampaign.org] wants you to join a discussion about the causes and deadly consequences of poverty in the US. 29] – James Zogby [jzogby@aaiusa.org] on Wed., Oct. 11 at 2 PM ET is inviting you to a Coffee and a Column.  The events in Palestine and Israel over this past weekend have been horrifying to watch. The world is watching in real time as the horrific murders carried out by Hamas are now being more than matched by Israel against the two million captive Palestinians trapped in the Gaza Strip. For this week's Coffee and a Column, hear a discussion of the tragedy unfolding in Gaza and the failure of the Western world, especially the US, whose reaction to the Hamas attacks have given the Netanyahu government the green light for a license to kill. Having witnessed this same nightmare playing out repeatedly since 1967, Zogby calls this column “No Lessons Learned.” Register at https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZAqcO-gpj0oGNW-ryAT-KD5Ccb9FGoDyOlN?emci=cb475b21-8b67-ee11-9937-00224832eb73&emdi=ba532cd9-9667-ee11-9937-00224832eb73&ceid=389907#/registration After you register, you will automatically get the dial-in information for the call.
