28] –The Islamic regime in Iran is using execution verdicts as a desperate act to suppress peaceful demonstrations and protests due to the disastrous economic condition in Iran.  The judicial system in Iran executes innocent activist and individuals by forced confessions, torture and sham trials.  The unjust death sentences for Pakhshan Azizi and Varisheh Moradi is another act of desperation by the Islamic Republic’s use of capital punishment to suppress members of minority communities and terrorize Iranian women who are fighting tirelessly for their rights as equal citizens of Iran.  You are asked to show your urgent support for contacting the United Nations Human Rights office and Iranian mission at United Nations to demand the Islamic republic of Iran stop the unjust execution verdicts for both women and hundreds of other prisoners on death row in Iran. These prisoners must receive fair trials according to international judicial standards, including the right for all prisoners to independent counsels.

Contact the permanent mission of Iran, 622 Third Avenue, 34th Floor, NEW YORK, NY 10017 -- https://geneva.mfa.gov.ir or Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), Palais Wilson, 52 rue des Pâquis, CH-1201 Geneva, Switzerland -- ohchr-InfoDesk@un.org On Tues., March 4 from 7 - 8:30 PM ET, enjoy Habitant Gardening for Birds: Intro Webinar. Audubon experts will share practical tips and scientific support for gardening with native plants and making our neighborhoods more resilient. 29] – Jewish Voice for Peace is doing a Power Half-Hour for Gaza: Channel grief & outrage into action to stop a genocide.  A year into the genocide in Gaza, we are overwhelmed with sorrow and rage. There are no words to describe the devastating pain of the past year in which the Israeli military has killed over 44,000 Palestinians in Gaza, including more than 17,000 children. The International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court have both declared that Israel must stop the genocidal acts being committed on the Palestinian people. And the U.S. government is actively supporting the Israeli military as it wreaks devastation on the over 2 million Palestinians in Gaza. JVP continues to come together as a political community in its daily half-hour to take action, Monday through Friday, for the past year. Join in and take collective action to demand an arms embargo to Israel, immediate end to the genocide, a lasting ceasefire and an end to Israeli siege, apartheid, occupation, and oppression of Palestinians and Lebanon. All are welcome. All are needed. Get involved at 3 PM ET on Tues., March 18, Wed., March 19, Thurs., March 20 & Mon., March 24.  Visit https://jvp-org.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_Un0Lupy1SFObVVXJaZO5UQ?_x_zm_rtaid=8L0JUS3pQkenMGtx9ha3mQ.1732760660364.03949df73aedc7035fc618f76c52fc75&_x_zm_rhtaid=249#/registration

33] –Tune in to FIRST THEY CAME FOR THE IMMIGRANTS… on Tues., March 18 from 7 to 8:30 PM ET for an online CPDCS webinar on understanding and responding to mass deportations. Register at https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_FuxPPixBRAOxyQsAS5Ahkg#/registration

At the forefront of the Trump/MAGA white supremacy campaign is the mass deportation of millions of immigrants, most of whom are guilty of no more of fleeing for their lives from war zones and communities consumed in violence, or in pursuit of work and economic security. Families are being shattered, lives put at risk. And like Trump’s protectionist tariffs, the deportations undermine our communities’ and national economic vitality. Join three immigrant rights experts and activists to learn what is happening and how we can respond: Araceli Argueta is the Organizing and Advocacy Director for the American Friends Service Committee’s New Jersey Immigrant Rights Program. Itzel Hernandez is an immigrant rights organizer with the American Friends Service Committee in Red Bank, New Jersey. She is also a DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) recipient. Dr. Alexandra Piñeros Shields is Associate Professor and directs the Master of Public Policy Program at the Heller School, Brandeis University where she teaches courses on immigration policy, economic justice, and participatory action research.

34] –Back from the Brink [info@preventnuclearwar.org] on Tues., March 18 at 8 PM ET will hold a Local Organizing Meetup. Digital content will be shared along with highlights and outcomes from 3MSP, and there will be a discussion about the introduction of the new McGovern resolution. Hear a report of the Third Meeting of States Parties to the TPNW at the UN and the prospects for a Senate companion bill to McGovern’s resolution.  As always, first-timers and people with all levels of organizing experience are welcome. 35] –On Tues., March 18 at 8 PM ET, get with the CODEPINK Congress Capitol Calling Party.  On the heels of Project 2025 comes Project Esther, a fascist blueprint for silencing protests against Israel and indoctrinating the nation into Zionism and Christian nationalism. Another horror from the Heritage Foundation, Project Esther says its goal is to eliminate anticolonial perspectives from the US education system through the criminalization of protests by “HSO” (Hamas Support Organizations). Project Esther appropriates the story of Queen Esther, the Jewish heroine who saved the Jewish people from extermination.  … Rather than protecting Jews from antisemitism, Project Esther deploys anti-Semitic conspiracy theories mixed with the false claim of ‘defending’ Jews as a smokescreen to attack the Palestinian liberation movement.” (Jewish Voice for Peace Academic Advisory Council, 3/13/25).

Discuss Project Esther and resistance to white supremacy with Brooke Lober and Barry Trachtenberg. Lober serves on the Academic Council of Jewish Voice for Peace, a national coalition of undergraduate and graduate students, alumni, and campus activists united in support for Palestinian equal rights and liberation. Trachtenberg serves on the Academic Advisory Council of Jewish Voice for Peace and the Advisory Board of the Institute for the Critical Study of Zionism.
