22] – Federal workers serve our communities every day,
providing vital services that millions of Americans rely on. Instead of being
intimidated into “resigning” by the world’s richest man, stand up and make your
voices heard. On Wed., Feb. 19 from 8 AM to 10 PM ET, join fellow federal
employees and community supporters across the country for a Save Our Services
day of action, sponsored by the Federal Unionists Network. RSVP at https://actionnetwork.org/events/save-our-services-day-of-action?link_id=9&can_id=4b9d4061aec5469758759317ac0f5285&source=email-metro-dc-dsa-weekly-newsletter-for-january-24-2025-5&email_referrer=email_2619065&email_subject=metro-dc-dsa-weekly-newsletter-for-february-14-2025
23] – See a screening of "No Other Land," an Oscar-nominated film about the Occupation of the West Bank community of Masafer Yatta at the AFI Silver Theatre, 8633 Colesville Road, Silver Spring 20910. Call 301.495.6700 or go to https://silver.afi.com/Browsing/Movies/Details/f-0100004929
There are two shows each day Wed., Feb. 19 and Thurs., Feb. 20. For example, you can see the film each day at 11:15 AM or 6:10 PM ET. The film is a powerful collaboration between Palestinian and Israeli filmmakers and a nominee for Best Documentary Feature Film, 2025 Academy Awards. Basel Adra is a Palestinian activist living under occupation in the West Bank community of Masafer Yatta. Yuval Abraham is an Israeli journalist whose freedom of movement allows him to come and go as he pleases. As unlikely as it might seem, the two strike up a friendship and, together with Rachel Szor and Hamdan Ballal, form a collective to document the gradual destruction of Masafer Yatta, the forced eviction of its Palestinian residents and the illegal takeover of their lands at the hands of Israeli authorities. The haunting images they capture — homes torn down by bulldozers, violent nighttime raids, and vile verbal abuse — are interwoven with archival footage of a young Adra and his activist family to paint a harrowing portrait of injustice wrought upon Palestinians.

25] – Jewish Voice for Peace is doing a Power Half-Hour for Gaza: Channel grief & outrage into action to stop a genocide. A year into the genocide in Gaza, we are overwhelmed with sorrow and rage. There are no words to describe the devastating pain of the past year in which the Israeli military has killed over 44,000 Palestinians in Gaza, including more than 17,000 children. The International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court have both declared that Israel must stop the genocidal acts being committed on the Palestinian people. And the U.S. government is actively supporting the Israeli military as it wreaks devastation on the over 2 million Palestinians in Gaza. JVP continues to come together as a political community in its daily half-hour to take action, Monday through Friday, for the past year. Join in and take collective action to demand an arms embargo to Israel, immediate end to the genocide, a lasting ceasefire and an end to Israeli siege, apartheid, occupation, and oppression of Palestinians and Lebanon. All are welcome. All are needed. Get involved at 3 PM ET on Wed., Feb. 19, Thurs., Feb. 20, Mon., Feb. 24 & Tues., Feb. 257.
