Honor all immigrant essential workers and the dangerous work conditions they constantly endure to support their families. 33] –This International Workers’ Day (Wed., May 1), Metro DC DSA members are joining UNITE HERE Local 25 members to show solidarity with local hotel workers. At 4:30 PM, UNITE HERE Local 25 will be rallying, as hotel contracts are set to expire for thousands of Local 25 members in the coming months. Metro DC DSA comrades will be joining to show solidarity with hotel workers fighting for strong contracts with fair wages, good benefits and the dignity they deserve. On Wednesdays, including May 1, from 6 to 7 PM ET, join a Team ENOUGH welcome session to learn more about the different ways you can engage.  Team ENOUGH is a youth-led program whose mission is to educate young voices about gun violence and mobilize them to take meaningful action against it. 38] – On both Wed., May 1 and Wed., May 15 at 8 PM ET, consider participating in Challenging Conversations: Intergenerational nonviolent peacemaking through difficult times.  Janice Vanderhaar is a longtime Pax Christi USA leader; she and her late husband Gerry have given decades to the pursuit of peace and nonviolence. Pax Christi USA Young Adult Caucus member Tiffany Hunsinger was matched with Janice for the Peace Pairs program this past year.  Janice and Tiffany are offering these two sessions on nonviolent peacemaking for the wider Pax Christi community -- both weeks, participants will receive an excerpt from Beyond Violence: In the Spirit of the Nonviolent Christ written by Gerry Vanderhaar, with reflection questions from Tiffany and Janice. Both sessions will include prayer, reflections and input from Tiffany and Janice, and discussion with participants.
