21] -- Join in on Wed., Nov. 29 at 1 PM ET on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People for a webinar with movement leaders on how you can show up and take action for Palestine. There is no more important moment than now to stand in solidarity. With about 15,000 Palestinian people killed by Israel across Gaza, we must continue pressuring U.S. and international leaders and societies to demand a total ceasefire now.  RSVP at https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN__stGE0sxQeO9oGxVb_qG9w#/registration

22] – The Working Families Party [reply@workingfamilies.org] is holding a Ceasefire Now phone bank on Wed., Nov. 29 at 3 PM ET.  Understand that the Palestinian people are distinct from Hamas, and the Israeli people do not represent the Israeli government's actions. The U.S. plays a role by providing military aid to Israel, and we must push for a permanent ceasefire.  Congress is set to vote on a bill that would send $14 billion in US taxpayer money and in US-made weapons to the Israeli military to support its brutal war. This is on top of the $3.5 billion we already send to the Israeli military every year. Israel’s bombing campaign and ground invasion have already killed at least 15,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children, obliterated civilian infrastructure including schools and hospitals, and made entire cities uninhabitable.

As more and more members of Congress come out for a ceasefire, there’s also growing momentum also to block any further military funding for Israel so long as its human rights abuses continue. There may be a vote in the Senate on such a provision as early as next week. Call your Senator and tell them you oppose US taxpayer dollars and US weapons being sent to the Israeli military to commit war crimes against Palestinian civilians. Register for a shift to make calls and help strengthen the phone bank team to protect our democracy. 30] -- The Treaty for Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons is a critically important vehicle in the struggle to prevent nuclear war and to create a nuclear weapons-free world. But it’s not enough!  With the tectonic geopolitical changes and intensifying confrontations between great and lesser nuclear powers and proliferation pressures from Seoul to Tehran, and arms racing with nuclear “modernization”, cyber, AI, and other high-tech weaponry, we must respond to the urgency of the moment.    In the face of Israel's U.S.-supported assault in Gaza, resulting in well over 14,000 deaths so far, including several thousand children, the threat of a wider regional conflict is undeniable. These attacks coincide with U.S.-Saudi “security” negotiations, potentially involving military support, with the hope of normalizing Saudi-Israel relations. What's most alarming is Saudi Arabia's request for uranium enrichment—a grave concern given its openness to seeking nuclear weapons if Iran pursues them.  The panel aims to shed light on the ongoing crisis in the Middle East and discuss practical ways to address it and prevent further violence. This teach-in will include a call-to-action requiring our collective attention and engagement.

To be continued.
