The movement to liberate Palestine has been revitalized and expanded in the wake of the Hamas attack of October 7th and the Israeli response in Gaza, the West Bank, and Israel itself. How did we get here? In this session, you can  go over the basics of the history of Palestine, Zionism, the founding of Israel, and the movement to liberate Palestine, and the variety of strategies and tactics that has entailed, including but not limited to Boycott, Divestment and Sanction (BDS.) 42] – Team Justice is Global [team@justiceisglobal.org] wants you to join with the 1990 Institute for a virtual workshop titled “Media Narratives: Evaluating U.S.-China Headlines” on Wed., Nov. 15 at 6:30 PM ET with speakers Bochen Han, Kaiser Kuo, and Amy Qin. The panel will delve into their first-hand experiences of their careers as journalists to highlight some of the complexities of news reporting in the context of U.S.-China relations. This Workshop aims to provide audience with insights on how to evaluate reports and headlines, including identifying sources and exploring moral standards and principles that American and Chinese journalists follow in their reporting, and come away from this Workshop with practical tools and resources on media literacy, cross-cultural understanding, and responsible consumption and dissemination of news.
