3] – THE ORGANIZING LIST will be the primary decision-making mechanism of the National Campaign of Nonviolent Resistance [NCNR]. It will be augmented by conference calls and possibly in-person meetings as needed. It will consist of 1 or 2 representatives from each local, regional, or national organization (not coalitions) that wishes to actively work to carry out the NCNR campaign of facilitating and organizing nonviolent resistance to the war in Iraq.

THE NOTICES LIST will include only notices of NCNR actions and related information and is open to any interested person to subscribe. It will be moderated to maintain focus & will include periodic notices about getting involved in NCNR national organizing. 5] – Bill Barry [wbarrymd@hotmail.com] is asking for your help in keeping the Maryland Green Party on the ballot line. The Maryland Green Party still needs another 1,500 signatures on petitions. 10] – The AFL-CIO Summer Book Group will discuss "From Financial Crisis to Stagnation: The Destruction of Shared Prosperity and the Role of Economics," by Tom Palley. on Fri., July 27 from noon to 2 PM at AFL-CIO, 815 16th St. NW. 11] – There is a silent vigil on Fri., July 27 from 5 to 6 PM outside of Homewood Friends Meeting, 3107 N. Charles St., in opposition to war in Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan. 13] – Jerusalem Fund Gallery Photography Exhibit opens on Fri., July 27 from 6 to 8 PM and continues through Sun., Aug. 19 at 6 PM at 2425 Virginia Ave. NW. More than a romantic idea, Palestinians' cultivation of their land contains the seeds of resistance. Walk the fields through Vivien Sansour's photographs, experience the relationship of farmer to land, see how old ways of planting and harvesting, of cooking old recipes, form a historical continuum, the fruits of their labors feeding the body and the soul of Palestine today.



Vivien will combine stunning large format images of Palestinian farmland with portraits of individual farmers. In addition, she will debut a film on the traditional method of making apricot jam, and include photographic recipe cards. During the opening, end-use products from the farmers harvests, such as tapenade, sun dried tomatoes, maftoul and za'atar, along with flavored olive oils, will be available for tasting and purchase. 14] – In Michael Reimann's new play, LETHAL INJECTION, the audience plays the role of the jury in a case of two brothers accused of murdering an intruder in their Texas home. A conviction means death by lethal injection.







The play, part of the Baltimore Playwrights Festival, can be seen on weekends from Fri., July 27 through Sun., Aug. 5. On Fridays and Saturdays, the performance begins at 8 PM. 20] – There will be a peace vigil on the West Lawn of the Capitol at noon on Sat., July 28. Look for the blue banner with the message, "Seek Peace and Pursue It.--Psalms 34:14." 21] – Join PSR’s executive director, Catherine Thomasson MD, in calling for a halt to health-endangering hydraulic fracturing (“fracking”) used in drilling for oil and natural gas. Dr. Thomasson will address the first nationwide demonstration protesting unsafe fracking. Join Dr. Thomasson on the Mall in Washington, DC.

The film (French: Un prophète) is a 2009 French prison film directed by Jacques Audiard, who claims the film aims at "creating icons, images for people who don't have images in movies, like the Arabs in France." 23] – Usually, the Baltimore Ethical Society, 306 W. Franklin St., Suite 102, Baltimore, MD 21201-4661, meets on Sundays, and generally there is a speaker and discussion from 10:30 to 11:30 AM.
