Reel and Meal presents Two Utopia FF Films: "Beyond Barriers: The Road to Well Being" and "Food, Fiber and the Female Farmer."  Beyond Barriers: The Road to Well-Being by filmmaker Laura Carlson looks at a border town where a Mexican mother and a retired US businessman work together to improve the well-being of a border community. The film follows as this small international community of friends work together to face challenges from the pandemic to severe drought.

 Food, Fiber and the Female Farmer by filmmaker Cheryle Franceschi, introduces us to a number of long-time Maryland women farmers who display skill, grit, tenacity and good business sense in this crucial local industry. Filmmakers for both films will be present for discussion of the issues raised in their outstanding films. Franceschi will be with us live in the Cafe and Laura Carlson will join us via Zoom from California.
